Ex-Bush AG: There May Be A ‘Case For Seditious Conspiracy’ After Hutchinson Testimony

Former Bush administration Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez on Thursday argued that former President Trump and those in his inner circle should be “very concerned,” following revelations that came to light during damning testimony by Cassidy Hutchinson, former aide to White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, during the Jan. 6 Select Committee’s public hearing this week.

Does he not know that DoJ has already charged a seditious conspiracy and won several convictions? And Cassidy just put Meadows smack into that particular one along with Rudy. Slow Alberto is just now catching up.

Alberto knows crimes.
CNN knows rep washing.

No, he doesn’t, because that hasn’t happened. You may be thinking of the one or two plea deals that involved a guilty plea to seditious conspiracy.

Apparently, we’ve now reached the Even-Alberto-Gonzales-Looks-Reasonable-By-Comparison stage.

I’ll reserve judgment until we hear from John Yoo.

I’m surprised he even recalls his own name.

“[A person] let me know you have your deposition tomorrow,” read a slide that the Jan. 6 committee broadcast at the end of Hutchinson’s hearing, which Vice Chair Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) characterized as pressure on a key witness. “He wants me to let you know that he’s thinking about you. He knows you’re loyal, and you’re going to do the right thing when you go in for your deposition.”

Meadows is the person whose name was redacted in that slide. Contents of that final deposition were described to POLITICO, which could not independently corroborate the identity of the intermediary or that Meadows directed any message be delivered to Hutchinson before her second deposition.

Former Bush administration Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez…

Me getting advice from a much sharper legal mind:

Hmmm, Cheny and Kinzinger wacking it out of the park, now somebody steering Hutchinson to a new lawyer and to Cheney to drop her bombshells (with hints of Jeff Sessions being involved in that, as well), now Alberto Gonzales weighing in about how deep the shit is piling up - I would offer up that it looks like the anti-Trump wing of the Republican cabal have decided to make their move…

About the blast from the past Alberto Gonzalez, I thought he died and gone to (someplace), but now I see he’s alive and kicking. Pretty soon Harriet Miers will weigh in because she came close to being a Supreme.

There’s always a right wing woman gushing over a repub man who at bottom doesn’t give a shite about them.

Given who Bush the lesser placed on the court after Miers’s nomination flamed out, I would much rather have had Miers on the bench.

Client: “So you’re saying I should forget all about that advice to plead guilty in exchange for the tuna – and just offer to become a cooperating witness if the DA guarantees a laser pointer and reduced shots?”
