Back in September 2020, then-Attorney General Bill Barr stopped by the office of a local columnist while on a trip to Chicago.

In a perfect world, Fat Bill would wind up indicted, for a lifetime of white-collar crime.

That which happened to Giuliani, i.e. having his law license suspended, should happen to Barr. Then they should both be indicted.

Barr is now deep into saving himself*, knowing full well that being a key Trump Stooge had a short shelf life when connected to real power but a clearly wasting asset when that juice drained away into flaccid, impotent madness, raging into the wind and calling for his bottom-of-the-barrell minions.

  • and J Karl a willing accomplice afraid to remind readers of Barr’s early connivance with Trump’s Big Lie to contradict the Braveheart Tale he wrote up.

Infamy is what Barr deserves.
He will get it.

I’d be satisfied with the type of brain cancer Lee Atwater got. It almost made me believe in Karma.

NEW: The resolution to create a Jan. 6 commission is out

— 13 members. 5 appointed "after consultation with the minority leader.” PELOSI considering appointing a Republican herself

The House resolution setting up the January 6th committee says 5 of the 13 members “shall be appointed after consultation with the minority leader” not “on the recommendation of the minority leader.”

Karl’s amazing rehabilitation piece is already an embarrassment for the Atlantic (or at least their readership). Barr pretty much paints himself as the good guy, which is kind of what bad guys do.

He hung on, doing as many dirty deeds as he could until he realized the vicious idiot was going down. He bailed knowing the dirt was going to come out and he is now trying to scrub that mud off himself. Too late.

Consultation by whom? Does this mean that Pelosi just needs to “consult” with McCarthy, and then appoint whoever she wants? Just for the record, i’m OK with that.

“It was all bullshit.”

Yes, it was, including his roles.

Look into my eyes
You will see
What you mean to me
Search your heart
Search your soul
And when you find me there
You’ll search no more

Don’t tell me it’s not worth tryin’ for
You can’t tell me it’s not worth dyin’ for
You know it’s true
Everything I do
I do it for you

“Even that was hedged, as the Washington Post’s Greg Sargent pointed out, to suggest that there may still have been fraud in the election — just not enough to invalidate Biden’s victory.”

The stock line included in so many articles in the mainstream media—the assertion that “there is no evidence of widespread fraud in the election”—similarly implies that there may have been some fraud but not enough to make Biden’s victory illegitimate. It drives me crazy. The correct claim is that there has been virtually no electoral fraud discovered. The handful of cases that have been found all involved votes for Trump.

I was looking for an audio recording of Barr pledging his allegiance to T rumpp and thought i’d found it disguised as Bryan Adams singing, Everything I Do, I do It For You. I started listening, but after a few seconds, i decided to move on.

  :face_vomiting:

edit - I see @lastroth had the same idea, but he actually posted the pledge of Barr’s allegiance.

It always comes back to this. All of these incompetent idiots went headlong into the woodchipper, believing a second term as forgone conclusion. With all of the tools as his/their disposal-- they managed to screw this up too.

Barr is a dead-lawyer-walking.
TMF will deploy Barr as a prop, his latest bogeyman, during his ‘Whine & Vengeance Tour 2021’.

Keeps getting better every day. But nowhere near even.

I have been operating under this assumption for a while now; there is no other reasonable explanation for their behavior.

But this leaves us with another question - what was their long-term plan? Did they expect trumpists to hold power indefinitely, that there would be no blowback for this, ever? Barr is no dummy; what the fuck was he thinking?
