Every living former Federal Reserve Chair, from Alan Greenspan to Janet Yellen, signed on to an amicus brief urging the Supreme Court not to allow President Donald Trump to remove Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook while her case against the president moves through the courts. Allowing Trump to remove Cook as she challenges his attempt…
Guarantee that will be enough to throw the decision to the First Felon. Tell anyone not to do something and they cannot help but to do what they were asked not to.
Yeah, if they are big babies. Oh, right.
Hey, when you’re just calling balls and strikes, you don’t need any experts.
Wait – I thought the headline said every living former Fed chairman…
Good for the former Fed chairs! But they might have been smarter to have demonstrated the expected effect upon the portfolios of the Seditious Six “Justices”, should the Fed be run the way Trump wants it to be.They’d respond to the personal more than to any concerns about that old “rule of law” schtick and “stability of the financial system” wonkery.
Every Living Former Fed Chair is Urging the Supreme Court to Stop Trump from Removing Lisa Cook
The problem is that it’s been a really long time since the Supreme Court majority gave any sign at all that it gives the tiniest crap about logical arguments of this kind, carefully laid out and agreed to by bipartisan groups of apparently more or less sane people.
For a really long time now, it seems the only thing that truly motivates the Supremes is something that I think of as The Insanity Circus.
Alan Greenspan is still alive at 99 according to wiki(?).
When has the conservative majority paid attention to people other than conservative medaishere that ate their brains?
Alan Greenspan is not dead. He just smells funny.
Samuel Alito hovering his finger over the giant red “Self-Destruct” button, imagining the fat advance check he’ll get for his next book, Woke Made Me Do It.
“Granting the government’s request to remove Governor Cook from the Board immediately would … expose the Federal Reserve to political influences…"
FOR NO REASON.
I should have known! A wonderfully tasteful piece of Kimmel humor. Totally appreciated!!
Could have fooled me.
Followed by the book “I had to do it because they put DEI Justices on the Court”.
Maybe I’m being a bit dark, but my general feeling is that if SCOTUS allows Trump to fire Cook, we’re basically done here. It will be a clear indication that the anti-democratic wing of the Court is not just mostly in the bag for Trump but is fully in the bag for Trump. It will be clear that they, like Trump, have dispensed with all regard and respect for the law and the Constitution. America as we (used to) know it will be pretty much irretrievably lost for the foreseeable future, if not for good.
I had that thought yesterday when they went 6 - 3 to allow the First Felon to not pay out the foreign aid that Congress had authorized.
I mean, at what point does Congress no longer have a purpose? At least for the House - the Senate still confirms without prejudice every candidate the First Felon puts before them.
And not in a good way
