Even Republicans on House Oversight Panel Insist on Testimony from Fired AG Bondi

Not So Fast It appears as though members of the House Oversight Committee, including some Republicans, are not going to let ousted Attorney General Pam Bondi get away with skipping her deposition now that she is no longer attorney general. House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) subpoenaed Bondi for an April 14 deposition before…

Bondi will get out of testifying. I’m not quite sure how, but she will.

The Dems are actually getting together to put the First Felon through a few things. There ya go.

Not sure which town in Wisconsin they’re referring to, but if we now have the model to prevent these data centers from pilfering resources from citizens, then push it forward to all the others.

And the First Felon really and truly lost everything with this Iran thing yesterday. The more that gets revealed, the worse it looks.

If, and it’s a huge if, the Oversight Committee proceeds with the subpoena process I think the only way she’ll escape appearing is to just let them charge her for Contempt of Congress and move on. Even if tRump doesn’t pardon her the DOJ isn’t going to pursue the matter. Hopefully after midterms she’ll have bigger issues to worry about

And Blue Kitty just sez wake her up then….

Didn’t the SupCt just use the IOKIYAR theory of legal construction to make it clear that Republicans don’t have to comply with Congressional subpoenas?

After SCROTUS gave Bannon a Get-out-of-Jail Free card for contempt of Congress for not complying with a Congressional subpoena, how is that not the new standard for these kinds of proceedings? I’d guess the chances of Blondi testifying are pretty much zero.

The DOJ stated Pam Bondi will not appear for a deposition since she is no longer Attorney General and was subpoenaed in her capacity as Attorney General.

Bondi…? …Yeah, she was promoted to Attorney General of Generalities yesterday. So your subpoena is wrong and she doesn’t need to show up.

Did the subpoena state that in words, on paper (verses just her name)? Or are they assuming that which can be bad for the entire DOJ and Bondi.

Make that creepy slimebag talk!

I’m curious about that too. It seems like a rather big loophole that makes me wonder why anyone would ever have to abide by a subpoena.

Just change your job title?

Nancy Mace, who is one of the Republicans on the committee who is demanding Bondi still testify and who was involved in drafting the subpoena, insists that the subpoena intentionally did not include Bondi’s title. The DOJ is claiming that, since Bondi was subpoenaed in her capacity as AG, sothe subpoena has now lost force. A war of words.

I am sure she will refuse to show up. (If she did, she would just shout insults at any serious interrogator.) If Congress votes to hold her in contempt (which it might), so what? Johnson isn’t going to detain her in the mysterious Congressional dungeon, and this DOJ will not pursue a referral from Congress to pursue a case against her in court. Assuming a Dem president come 2028, the DOJ will have much more serious business on its hands than pursuing Bondi over a stale referral from Congress.

The value of sticking to its guns, aside from insisting on Congressional committees to act as a kind of court, is keeping the Epstein files in the news a bit.

That made me curious if the Capitol Police have a holding cell in the Capitol. Short answer, no; someone being detained might be held at the CP’s nearby headquarters for a while nowadays.

But there’s interesting history around the question, discussed at the link below. The “dungeon” is most likely the barred access to the unused tomb built for George Washington, who ended up buried at Mount Vernon instead.

And a model for other towns is a big part of why they did it.

And in a shocking turn of events, WE-Energies decided that the companies building the data centers should be responsible for the cost of power generation, not the residentail customers.

And an update from last week.

Should Bondi bother to show up, I’m certain she’ll be well prepared with another notebook of put downs.

She apparently couldn’t remember name-calling without notes

Good article on how the US’s Department of Perpetual War is quickly being reduced to a Department of Defenselessness.

Today in words we learn from the Epstein files.

An ephebophile is an adult whose primary sexual interest is directed toward mid-to-late adolescents (generally ages 15–19), who have reached or just passed puberty. Ephebophilia is distinct from pedophilia (pre-pubescent children) and hebephilia (early puberty), and is often discussed in the context of paraphilic interests or statutory rape.

Key Aspects of Ephebophilia:

  • Target Group: Focuses on youth showing Tanner stages 4 to 5 of physical development, often described as post-pubescent.

  • Distinction from Pedophilia: Unlike pedophilia, which is a recognized psychiatric disorder, ephebophilia is not incorporated into the DSM structure.

  • Context and Legal Issues: While sometimes analyzed through an evolutionary lens regarding fertility, legal systems treat sexual actions with minors as statutory rape or child sexual abuse, regardless of the term used for the attraction.

  • Research Focus: Some studies examine ephebophilia in the context of criminal behavior or sexual abuse, specifically in research on offender behaviors.

Bondi’s employment status should have nothing to do with her testifying, after all Hillary Clinton had to testify and she didn’t even know Jeffrey Epstein.

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls let’s try this on for size.

Rubio, or some other scum bag, contacted Pakistan and asked them to finagle some bull shit to rescue us from the felon47 stunt on Sunday. Pakistan worked the phones and came up with a ceasefire, one in Farsi another in American. They have little in common.
