House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on Sunday decried the Trump administration’s secret seizing of Apple data records of House Intelligence Committee Chair Adam Schiff (D-CA) and Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) as going “even beyond Richard Nixon.”
Okay. But let’s deal with this once and for all. Let’s make it illegal for law enforcement and intelligence agencies at all levels to collect communications data or metadata without a warrant won in open, not FISA, court.
I just hope it has that many legs! But what will happen with the Republican side of Congress co-complicit? It’s depressing to think about how intractably awful they are.
Still, if the media keeps ringing the bell…who knows? It took a long time for the Republicans to get on board back in Nixon time too.
No, not very surprising. His cardinal sin was doing his job by occasionally saying no, you really can’t do that. But what I love is how likely it is to make even his former enablers wonder what he knows about them. He’s one treacherous SOB and if they didn’t really get that before this’ll give them something to think about.
