Anyone associated with this administration talking about “holding leaders accountable” makes me want to vomit.

[“It was supported by Navy leadership,” Esper said. “And I think it’s just another example how we hold leaders accountable for their actions.”]

You cannot make this stuff up.

What a coward. Shorter interview: “Modly made the call” and “I took the advice of the Navy”.

It’s telling when folks such as Esper still aren’t providing any reason for the dismissal that passes the laugh test. “Lost confidence” and “poor judgement” are placeholders only, especially since the Captain’s request was entirely correct. They know they’ve got nothin’…

Holding “accountable”?

You mean for this?

Esper is a low bred Trump POS who is part of a totally unAmerican administration.
How the fuck do you even live with your self?

And yet we don’t find his comments surprising.

Secretary Esper I believe those sailors would give you that same send off that they gave Capt Crozier except it would be that opposite reasoning.

Pretty certain that Esper comes into work every day and looks at a countdown clock to November 3rd.

And reminds himself that every individual who comes to Trump’s attention may have to be put to the side for now, in order to keep the whole Department from coming under Trump’s wrath.

That’s why Esper aped Trump by saying “tough” decision…

Monosyllable words sound better for macho-man-pretenders.

Crozier was fired because he embarrassed Cadet Bone Spurs. No other reason.

Do you suppose Esper’s lying?

tRUmp, Esper and others don’t have a clue what it takes to lead men and women who a willing to put their lives on the line. The Captain was doing the most important job he had, that is taking care of those that entrust their lives into his hands. Bravo Captain.

Telling the truth is not encouraged in this administration.

The reporting that I read said that Modly made this decision against the recommendation of the CNO. Would like to see some clarification on that.

Holy crap, if he doesn’t see the irony in his statement he is a first class moron.

His lips are moving, always a good bet.

Esper would have have given Admiral Doenitz a good run for his money.

This is bullsh*t. Captain Crozier sent a letter up the chain of command. Someone betrayed him by leaking the letter. A carrier captain is admiral material. He, and a country starving for good leaders, got screwed.

Over the years, I have done some reading about the British loss of Singapore to the Japanese in WWII.

That there is some serious finger-pointing.

Japanese troops on bicycles??? Who would have known?
