The Environmental Protection Agenca (EPA) can still regulate the nation’s greenhouse gas emissions, and now has the approval of a federal appeals court in Washington, D.C. to do so. A three-judge panel for the U.S. Court of Appeals in D.C. issued a ruling on Monday upholding the agency’s authority to impose new regulations — specifically one requiring that heavy carbon dioxide emitters register for state permits before upgrading facilities — under the Clean Air Act, as Bloomberg Businessweek reported.
