So the West Point Mafia is not covering themselves in glory… Pompeo and Esper are in the news for all the wrong reasons… I guess no matter how much they brag about it, you cannot teach integrity, honor and patriotism… if you are a self-serving ruffian you will continue to be so, even if you graduate number 1 at the Military Academy.

Pompeo was selected by Trump to do at State what Barr is doing at DOJ … namely, run out or steamroll over the apolitical professional staff and turn a vital executive agency into a personal tool of the pRezident, to be used for his own benefit instead of the common good.

Imagine working in State, under a president who would abolish it if he could, and a Secretary who has repeatedly shown that he sees it as an arm of Commerce and Energy, of the military, and of the Trump 2020 campaign.

Arrogance and exceptionalism are poor principles of foreign policy, unless your goal is to squander all your moral capital and end up isolated and alone. Just as Trump is the worst president in history, Pompeo has been a singularly counterproductive head of the State Department.
