The mayor of Milwaukee announced on Thursday that he had fired Milwaukee Election Commission deputy director Kimberly Zapata for allegedly making a bogus request for military ballots and sending them to a MAGA election-denying state lawmaker to prove voter fraud was possible.

IANAL, but committing voter fraud to prove there’s voter fraud sounds kinda criminal to me.
And could someone explain how a court in Flori-DUH would have jurisdiction over a state official in New York?

Once Trump is reelected his chief priority in choosing his Cabinet will be getting commitments from each nominee in advance they’ll never invoke the 25th Amendment. For it will certainly need invoked every day from January 20th moving forward.

Pundits are joyfully heralding the Enc of Democracy. Fortunately, they are mostly wrong. This is the suck face right wing support group that the right wing scornfully calls the liberal media. The End of Democracy will also be the End of the Free Press, ya know.

Those lawyers were reportedly worried the Florida attorneys were potentially committing malpractice,** believing the lawsuit was doomed to fail and frivolous.

“the end of our democracy” is a left leaning equivalent to “litter boxes in the classroom”. Our Democracy will survive being doused in shit just as classrooms will. It’s true that there are a wad of GOP’ers out there that see clean Democracy as an existential threat and think claiming it needs fixing a way to muck it up but IF they do that they’ll not succeed in the long run.
Perhaps the best thing America can do is sit back and let the assholes run the show for a time. They won’t be back after that.
One of the things that really amazed me that became clear during the Trump administration and through all the tell-all books is what a truly horrible manager he is. Mr. Trump seems to be a talented promoter and deal maker, but he has no organization skills whatsoever: no people management skills, operational competency or sustained strategic vision. The ‘Stop the steal’ effort is probably the closest he has come to a sustained, long-term project in his entire life.

I have a measure of respect for her. Her heart is in the right place. Nobody does things like winning an Oscar, being the only Black billionaire, being the number one Black philanthropist and such. I have my beefs. People are complicated.
I said it in 2015 and will say it again, you can’t say you are all for the military and then be against mail in or absentee ballots since that group is the biggest user of them. Conservative speak with forked tongue.
