Anybody have any guesses as to what this magistrate judge thought she was doing? Accepting warmed over conspiracy theories from 5 years ago as establishing probable cause to seize election ballots. Wow. Anybody seen the 4th Amendment lately or did it get sent to Alice in Wonderland.

For the Pharma boys and girls out there (like me) who have been involved in clinical studies, this is f’n unbelievable:
The US Food and Drug Administration has refused to accept an application from Moderna to review its first mRNA seasonal flu vaccine, the company said Tuesday, in another setback for the technology that’s been a target of some Trump administration health officials.
The agency told Moderna that its application didn’t contain an “adequate and well-controlled” trial because the control arm didn’t reflect the “best-available standard of care in the United States at the time of the study,” according to a letter dated February 3 that Moderna posted online. It didn’t identify any safety or efficacy concerns, the company said.
Moderna’s president says, “The complete stunner here is at no point in any of this did anybody say that it was not adequate” to run its clinical trial the way it had discussed with the agency.
They met with the FDA in August to discuss the filing, and there were no issues. Trump/RFK’s FDA Dir is anti-vax, and severely anti-mRNA vax.

There’s a lot of stuff Mike Johnson doesn’t know about. Even more stuff Donald Trump doesn’t know about (like what crimes the people he’s pardoned have committed, although he probably well remembers how much he charged for the pardon).
Why don’t they just rename it the “party of ignorance”? I say that only because the the “Know-Nothing Party” was already taken, although it, and the new party of ignorance seem to share the same politics. Maybe just “Know-Nothing Party v. 2.0.”

State Bar of Arizona prosecuted ethics complaint againt Olsen after 2020 election, but judges folded based on Arizona Supreme Court decision that essentially prohibits sanctions for election challlenges brought in bad faith to cast doubt on election process. I doubt the good Justices grasp their responsibility for what’s happening now.

You can’t know who the ICE agents are. But they can absolutely know who you are, even if you’re not a known person at all. It really is exactly the “secret police” framework most assume.
The use of masks implies that ICE agents and their principals directing them understand that a time could come when the terror ends and it all falls apart. This happened to the Stasi in East Germany in 1990. Most were able to melt into society and many higher-ups were excused because there was no law to violate during their reign of terror. Payroll, bank records and payment receipts should be sufficient to identify who was working for ICE during the current era, but we may never be able to link specific bad acts to specific bad actors unless ICE insiders themselves provide information. Since masking allows such impunity, it should not be allowed in the first place. It’s just too hard to put the toothpaste back in the tube.

There is a lot of discussion about how the US corruption ranking fell from 23rd least corrupt in 2023 to 29th least corrupt last year. Russia has gone from 141st in 2023 to 157th last year. Denmark was least corrupt, so of course Trump hates Denmark.

Before joining Trump’s cabinet, Lutnick ran the Wall Street firm Cantor Fitzgerald — presenting a huge potential conflict of interest that he claims to have ended by turning the business over to … his sons. Cantor Fitzgerald, in turn, is intimately linked to Tether, a cryptocurrency that is highly profitable because it has become a favorite channel for money-laundering by international criminals.
Nor was money-laundering through cryptocurrency the only criminal conspiracy to which Lutnick was, at the very least, adjacent. Lutnick has in the past vehemently denied having any association with Jeffrey Epstein, insisting that he severed all contact with the pedophile ringleader in 2005. But even the highly limited, extremely redacted release of the Epstein files — everything we’ve seen reeks of a major coverup — shows that he was flat-out lying. Not only did he stay in close contact with Epstein, the two men appear to have gone into business together.
But, at this point, who could possibly be surprised? The more we learn, the more pedophilia and criminal use of cryptocurrency look related, even like different aspects of a single conspiracy. Epstein, it turns out, was a major early investor in the crypto industry. In the backrooms of MAGA-land, passing around under-age girls is a lot like passing around insider crypto deals.

Exclusive-Trump’s spy chief Gabbard winds down intelligence task force
The DIG has been scrutinized by members of Congress, many of whom saw its structure as secretive. Congress passed legislation in December requiring Gabbard to provide a classified report last month that included details on DIG leadership, staffing levels and hiring practices.
Gabbard’s office missed the deadline but the ODNI spokesperson said the agency would still provide the information to Congress.
The disclosure that the DIG has been wound down comes at a sensitive moment for Gabbard, as Democrats raise alarms over her presence at a January 28 FBI raid that seized ballot boxes and other materials from a Georgia county’s election archive.
Reuters first reported last week that Gabbard’s office also oversaw an investigation last year into voting machines in Puerto Rico, with officials taking possession of an unspecified number of them.

MAGA supporter kills his own daughter after debate about Trump
A 23 year-old British woman was shot dead by her own father after the two had a heated argument about then-President-elect Donald Trump, according to a new report.
According to reports, Lucy Harrison’s boyfriend, Sam Littler, recalled in a recent court hearing that his girlfriend had a “big argument” with her father in the aftermath of Trump’s reelection. Lucy Harrison had brought up the multiple allegations of Trump assaulting women, and asked her father of Trump: “How would you feel if I was the girl in that situation and I’d been sexually assaulted?”
According to Littler, Kris Harrison responded that because he had two other daughters living in his home, he wouldn’t be too distraught if Lucy Harrison was assaulted by Trump. The 23 year-old reportedly became “quite upset” and left the room. Later that day, Kris Harrison took Lucy Harrison by the hand and led her to his bedroom. Just seconds later, Littler said he heard a loud “bang” and then heard Kris Harrison call for his wife
“I remember running into the room and Lucy was lying on the floor near the entrance to the bathroom and Kris was just screaming, just sort of nonsense,” Littler recalled.
Kris Harrison argued that he and Lucy were watching a news segment on gun violence, when he asked her if she would like to see his gun. He then said he led her into his bedroom to show off his Glock 9mm semi-automatic handgun. Kris – who is a recovering alcoholic – said he relapsed on the day of his argument with Lucy and drank an entire bottle of white wine.
“As I lifted the gun to show her I suddenly heard a loud bang,” he said. "I did not understand what had happened. Lucy immediately fell.
