Seems pretty obvious that GOP leadership have come to the conclusion that they cannot win without the MAGA/QAnon set. That means they cannot expel them to go form their own political party, nor can they give MAGA/QAnon voters any cause to withhold their votes.
Well played, sir. Keep it going. As many voices as possible should be challenging the Republican nonsense. Stay with the facts and push. What you are doing is not politics but striving for honesty. No one with her views should be on a committee of significance (or any committee for that matter). If that goal aligns with a political fall, well, the gods must be smiling… Go for it.
Rep. Bobby Scott (D-VA) is demanding that House GOP leadership explain the recent selection of QAnon sympathizer and Sandy Hook Elementary massacre denier Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene to a House committee dedicated to advancing education.
“Well, see, she never got one. We figure this is her chance.”
What they didn’t expect is that down the road (for these actions started back in the 1970’s) their ideal “product” would win elections under their label. No end game but political self-immolation.
Why not? 45 chose a billionaire to run Treasury and an old tired man with no government experience to run Commerce. He also chose a woman whose mission in life was to privatize education to run Education.
But maybe the best pick 45 made was Perry for Energy, the very cabinet Perry said he would eliminate when he was angling for the R nomination. Once he remembered the name of the cabinet
Assigning an individual to the education committee who had stalked a high school shooting survivor while announcing she had a gun. What could go wrong!
Perhaps they need a new committee, charged with, oh, I don’t know…“Birthday parties and retirement celebrations”. She can be the one who brings the card around for everyone to sign, or who asks for donations for the cake. I’m sure that she and her “little friend” can be very persuasive.
Good work by the Democratic leadership to use the Education Committee assignment to highlight Greene’s ghastly history and harassment of victims of these school shootings.
QAnon quackery may not resonate with John and Jane Public, but the idea that their kids’ safety must yield to the insane notions of the gun lobby death cult will strike a chord.
“Assigning her to the Education Committee, when she has mocked the killing of little children,” Pelosi said, adding: “What could they be thinking? Or is thinking too generous a word for what they might be doing. It’s absolutely appalling.”
Day-um. Nancy done busted out the whoopin’ stick this week.
