On my walk down from Signal Hill I was surprised by a man stopping his Wheels Trans Bus to ask me if I knew where the Terry Fox Memorial was; Terry started his cross Canada walk from St. John’s harbour. I said I didn’t so he told me and then remarked that we wants everyone to enjoy there time here.
That’s what I mean when I say this is an amazing place and the people are top notch. They don’t care who you are or where you are from. Isn’t that the way we should all be?

I was in Newfoundland a few years ago. They’re the friendliest people I’ve ever met.
I was on the Memorial University campus, and it was between semesters, so not many people were around. Yet it took quite a long time to walk across campus, because every Newfoundlander I encountered wanted to stop and have a long chat. None of them were folks I’d ever met–they were just also pedestrians around campus.
