It’s too bad the Republicans in Congress can’t do the jobs they were elected to do, including spending, and that they have fully given all financial decision making to the White House without any shame or embarrassment.
“Too bad” being a euphemism for “despicable”.
As pointed out by Markos at Daily Kos, the murder execution killing of Nurse Pretti broke the misinformation machine:

I think there’s another super important factor here: The Democrats used their power last time. The Republicans tried to stand firm and got pummeled. Now the Republicans know that the Democrats might not just roll over and show their bellies.
You only get invited to the table if you’re actually a player. You make yourself a player. Now, once you’re at the table, you might still get played. But if you just roll over completely, you’re a joke.
