Senate Judiciary Committee ranking member Dick Durbin (D-IL) doubled down on his claim that Kash Patel personally orchestrated a “purge” of senior law enforcement officials within the bureau and implored his colleagues to “pause” consideration of Patel’s nomination during a speech on the Senate floor Tuesday.  “Multiple whistleblowers have disclosed to my staff highly credible…

Imploring the GOP never works. Maybe try deploring.

Many of the comments on TPM and other platforms during the first Trump administration, his refusal to accept the 2020 defeat, and now since his subsequent inauguration and his reckless, grotesque, criminal behavior have been humor, used as a coping mechanism. Now, it seems for me, it just isn’t f_cking funny anymore. The survival of the nation and the common good is at risk.

“Durbin Implores Senate GOP To ‘Pause’ On Patel Amid Claims He Covertly Managed FBI Purge.”

I think the headline misspells “Lied Under Oath”.

Imploring the GOP to do what’s right is a sisyphean task, imploring in letters and floor speeches doubly so. Democrats need to learn how to communicate to the public. They need to target the damage on a state by state basis, show people how MAGA is harming their day to day lives, and hold elected officials accountable for their cowardly capitulation to Trump.
The copy rights itself, “Representative Smith voted for [insert bill/nominee/etc.]. Here is how that vote specifically hurts your livelihood. Trump and the GOP don’t want to represent you, they want to rule over you.”

Candidate to head the FBI engaged in illegal activity as a private citizen and then perjured himself? No problem.

Gee when did Sen. Durbin wake up?

I recall when the Trump admin tried to fire a senior FBI official (and deprive him of pension) for “lack of candor.”

Implore? What are you going to DO about it, Dick?

Sorry, but compared to what Musk is doing this is a roll through a stop sign. I won’t take it seriously until Susan Collins becomes concerned.

I am assuming you are just sitting there when you wrote that. So, what do you want Durbin to do? Shoot the man? Sit himself on fire? Any ideas. The Republicans have a majority, and they obviously don’t give a damn about their country.

It probably won’t change anyone’s mind, but there will be no way that the GOP can pretend not to know that the man is a complete douche bag. Just look at his eyes. Creeps me out. The American people need to know how bad these people suck even if the Democrats can’t stop them.

No, it is not funny anymore. And it is not helpful when people spend so much of their time and energy going after their own side for not doing what they don’t have the power to do. The voters are the ones we need to be pissed at. Trump has no more sense of right and wrong than a house fly and they gave him a second term. I just hope that when he makes a mess of things they suffer along with the rest of us.

I say more like this, Senator! As Dr. Johnson remarked, sunlight is the best disinfectant. Pound this illegality in the media.
