Duncan Hunter Announces He Will Plead Guilty In Criminal Campaign Finance Case

LA Times says he will resign. Looks like there might be two special elections in the March 2020 primary (in CA special elections, a primary winner with 50% of the vote wins the seat outright. If no 50% winner happens, a special election follows between the top two finishers). https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2019-12-02/rep-duncan-hunter-to-abandon-not-guilty-plea-in-campaign-finance-scandal

Those were legit uses-- three of them were lobbyists, two were congressional staffers. Seems like official business to me.

Well, it wasn’t like it was all at once. There were the 5 extra-marital affairs, the strip clubs, the steak dinners…

Resign? For what? For being a Republican?
These days there is absolutely nothing unusual about his behavior.

There ought to be a job for this guy at the White House. Maybe Trump should pardon him give him the job of Acting Secretary of State or Acting Chief of Staff.

He did say it was tough enough to be a public person’s kid, now it is about time they lived outside of the spotlight…hoping that means Buh Bye!

“It’s important not to have a public trial for three reasons, and those three reasons are my kids,” he said. “I think it’d be really tough for them. It’s hard enough being the kids of a public figure and I think it’s time for them to live life outside the spotlight.”

  1. Duncan you made yourself a public figure.
  2. Duncan you committed crimes while being a public figure.
3)Duncan you blamed/still blaming your wife for your actions, so who’s the child here that you are trying to protect.
  3. Not only did you cheat on your wife, you cheated your constituents of honest service.

only after spending months using the same vilification tools against Dems and the legal system, calling it a Witch Hunt among other things. So you get to slander everyone and everything within your considerable reach, then retreat and plead guilty. Nice

Can he vape on the job?

I would think Treasury or Commerce more likely. His management and budget skills seem to be in question, but he certainly knows how to spend.

Corrected Statement from Duncan Hunter (R-Felons)

“It’s important not to have a public trial for three reasons, and those three reasons are; my money, my money, and my money,” he said. “I think it’d be really tough for my money. It’s hard enough keeping my money when my wife is suing for divorce, in California, and has agreed to testify against me at my trial.
I think it’s time for my money to live life outside the spotlight, preferably somewhere in Dubai."

“It’s important not to have a public trial for three reasons, and those three reasons are my kids,” he said.

he then continued: " When I was having affairs with 5 other women, I held in my heart 3 little reasons why it was all well and good - and those are my precious, precious children, which are a gift from God. And as I was fornicating using campaign donations to be able to pursue these affairs on the cheap, I contemplated what suit I was going to wear when I pick up the “Father of the Year” award that is surely coming to me."

Any bets on no jail time and he gets to use campaign funds to pay back his theft?
