Duckworth Fires Back At Tucker Carlson, Invites Him To ‘Walk A Mile In My Legs’

Things like
In the middle of a Pandemic they want to take your health care away
or
Mitch and his buddies think you’ve gotten enough money and need to go back to work even if it kills you
I look at that 35-40% and just scratch my head

There was a time when no person, particularly a softy like Tucker, would dare impugn a person like Duckworth. In that time people could see themselves as others see them and and see being a non-military yakker puts you in a bad place when compared to a woman like the Senator so you’d STFU. Those times are no more. You can dodge the draft and then insult a POW. You can dodge combat with daddies help then “dress up” in a flight suit or insult a decorated combat veteran. Tucker asks “what would the Democrats do to America” but perhaps he should spend more time looking at what his network and GOP’ers have done to it.

But Tucker once had to endure loud protesters outside of his mansion … the trauma of that eat experience was frightening.

I would love a national discussion on Washington. Yes he was a man of his time and participated in the same things that others born with his background and station participated in, but he also sought to change those things for the better. He also spent an enormous portion of his life not enjoying his wealth and station but serving his country in harsh conditions and voluntarily stepped down from power. The man was one of the greatest Americans and there would be no America without him.

He’s a guy that’s willing to stoop lower than most as long as the check keeps coming in. Most people would not do what he’s doing. No decent person would. He’s headed for 20 million a year ( does not need it ) as long as he keeps doing what he did here though.

Let us remember ugly Tucker got his job because he was Roger AIles bitch and boytoy.

Remind Tucker Carlson that the Republican Party’s Death Panel and conservative medicine caused the death and disability to over 3 million Americans. Forty million Americans lost their jobs. This is more than all the American soldiers who died in the all the wars of the 20th and 21st Century.

Dems have only … done everything there is to be proud about America. Balanced the budgets, invented and implemented everything good about the country, and pulled the flaming wreckage out of the ditch (left by Rs) time and time again. I think, finally, finally the American people have woke up to the tune of about 60% - that Ds on their worst day have caused less damage than Rs on their best day.

We don’t need need to imagine what his lot have done to it.

Looks like Tucker is pulling out the Saxby Chambliss playbook against Max Cleland. It won’t work this time.

At one time we knew his papa. No surprise Tucker turned out as he has.

Tucker Carlson’s ‘America’ is the one in the whitewashed (original meaning…) history books where the founding fathers are like infallible gods and there is little mention of either slavery or the unlawful appropriation of Native American lands, and virtually no mention of the Reconstruction, Jim Crow and structural racism.

“The [fill in group name here] hate America” has been a reliable arrow in the political arsenal for a very long time. It’s short, creates fear in your followers, and puts your opponents on the defensive.

IMO, Duckworth’s response did nothing to diffuse any of that. I would have preferred something like –

  • open with how old and tired the phrase is
  • mention her military service
  • name 3 things she’s working on in the Senate because she loves America

Easily tweetable.

How about a “deeply silly and unimpressive person” ?

He is a deeply silly and unimpressive person.

Funny how Rs never go in for Projection-Lite. They go right for the jugular reaching down to the very bottom of their dark souls.

She’s a very impressive person (and Carlson’s not), but she mishandled the answer he criticizes. The idea of having a general conversation about controversial statues was fine. She should have been able to clearly state she doesn’t support pulling down statues of Washington. She tried to play it too cute and later put out a tweet to clear it up.

I demand a retraction! You beat me by seconds
