Dubious DOJ ‘Review’ Of Clinton That Trump Pushed Ends With A Whimper | Talking Points Memo

A politically-driven DOJ “review” of the Clinton Foundation and other warmed-over Clinton-related stories, which President Donald Trump demanded in 2017 as the Mueller probe heated up, has essentially concluded with nothing to show for its work.

whomp whomp The current DOJ review of the FBI counterintelligence investigation will fizzle out the same way as well. They were all right-wing fever dreams to start with.

It served its purpose. Enough people believed the lies to ensure a narrow Trump victory and to distract from the real criminals.

So, we can’t lock her up?

Dammit.

This is an outrage. No mention of Comet Pizza or the child sex trafficking ring? Or her dirty dealings with Soros. How did Huber miss that? Did he even consult QAnon? That is pure malpractice if he didn’t. I sincerely hope Willian Robespierre Barr refuses to accept these findings and appoints his own reliable prosecutor to get some actual answers.

Which is exactly what happened with Whitewater. Republicans didn’t want to hear that there was nothing to prosecute so they fired Robert Fiske (honest and fair was unacceptable) and hand-picked Ken Starr as their henchman in chief.

The NYT, John Solomon and Peter Schweizer. One of these entities is, or should be, unlike the other two.

The New York Times was heavily criticized for a 2015 article on Uranium One and the Clinton Foundation that independently built on Schweizer’s findings in his then-forthcoming book Clinton Cash, which, similarly was a wellspring of Clinton attacks.

The story spent years in conservative opposition research circles after that, from the then-Hill contributor John Solomon to a U.S.-based uranium company who cited Uranium One to appeal to the Trump administration for limits on foreign uranium imports.

There was a crime committed here and it wasn’t by Hillary.

There is no justice in America when the innocent are hounded with political investigations and the guilty, stealing elections, lying to FBI, obstructing justice…go free.

Don’t worry, “Bull” Durham will uncover the real conspiracy. Plus, those detectives are due back from Hawaii with the “real” Obama birth certificate any day now.

C’mon, no DOJ report? If there were one, it might read something like this… “Our investigation found that the Clinton Foundation is a well-run and thoroughly professional organization which operates in compliance with the law and within established ethical norms for the nonprofit industry. All accusations of malfeasance, which originated from the right-wing fever swamps, were found to be baseless. We found no malfeasance whatsoever. In contrast with the Trump foundation, which was found to be a tool primarily for promotion and self-enrichment of the Trump family with only tenuous and fleeting connections to any charitable or philanthropic giving…” continuing with tens of pages of bullet pointed ethical and legal violations.

One can dream.

Hillary should just continue enjoying her family including some grandkids and taking walks around the hills near Chappaqua. An occasional opinion piece would be nice, writing a book recently with Chelsea was a good thing, and let’s give her continued respect for how she far she got in 2016.
