Political operative McCrae Dowless has officially been indicted for his concoction to an absentee ballot scheme to help Republican Mark Harris win a congressional race in North Carolina’s 9th District.
Hey, he has plausible deniability. He’s too much of an idiot to be in on the plot. That’s the secret sauce of the IOKIYAR defense. Never you mind that his own son testified that he hired Dowless, knowing that he was dodgy as hell.
What if he concocted the scheme? I kind of remember that Dowless concocted the whole Absentee Ballot outreach scam. I mean he is definitely connected with it, but I think he also totally concocted it.
@agiocambos suggested “connection”, but [like “collusion”] there is no official charge of concoction or connection on which a political operative could officially be indicted.
Loosely, Dowless’ concoction of this scheme (if he didn’t get taught it by his corrupt grandpappy) led to the indictments, but not literally, not “officially”.
It will appear whenever one of the little fish decides they want to spend less time in prison…I bet the prosecutors are looking for someone to flip on him, and any other Republicans who pushed this.
It’s not voter fraud and calling it that plays into the GOP’s hands. It’s election fraud and it was run by the GOP. Calling it that leads to general suspicion of the GOP’s motives.
