Doug Mastriano Has Ties To An Anti-Semitic Tech Founder

Doug Mastriano, the far-right Republican gubernatorial nominee in Pennsylvania, has come under fire in recent days for a deal his campaign struck with Andrew Torba, the anti-Semitic founder of the social media network Gab — though it’s not clear Mastriano cares.

"Torba said he considered certain Jewish conservatives — Dave Rubin and Ben Shapiro — unwelcome in the movement unless ‘they repent and accept Jesus Christ as their lord and savior…We don’t want people who are Jewish’…”

So Rubin and Shapiro finally get the Come-To-Jesus moment everyone but them knew was coming.

Welcome to the GOP pogrom, boys. What makes you think you were gonna escape it?

None are so blind as Jewish Republicans who will Nazi.

I am continually astonished by the mileage these Christofascists get politically from saying the quiet parts out loud; not that they say it – after all this is what they are – but that so many of our nominally fellow-citizens seem to approve when in the voting booth.

I believe that Josh Shapiro will indeed be our next governor, but knowing that Mastriano has even a chance truly scares me.

@darrtown, Arizona ain’t doing much better…

You are right.
I voted early by mail in ballot for Kati Hobbs for our governor. Our primary is in just a few days. I think Hobbs has a real good chance. And it is possible one of our state chambers may finally flip to blue after 54 years of being red.

— though it’s not clear Mastriano cares.

My guess? He’s doesn’t.

Mastrianno sees all Jews as Democrats and is incapable of believing otherwise. To him, their vote doesn’t count anyway since they’re not Americans. I hope NO ONE forgets that Rump repeatedly referred to Israeli PM Netanyahu as the leader of the (all) Jews.

Tangentially related: https://skepticalinquirer.org/volume/no-4-vol-46/

ETA: Demonstrates how some rumors/urban legends, conspiracies have been around for 2 millennia.
The objects of them changes, but the dynamics do not. First it was the Christians, then the Romans, later the Jews, today the liberals. In Roman times the Christians were defiling virgins. Today the liberals are grooming kids. In between, the Jews were drinking the blood of Christian babies.
And the beat goes on.

Dude. It’s an awesome state. Some of its people are rural righties. This particular guy is a lunatic. He’s doing better than I would wish but the next governor will be named Shapiro.

If PA elects him as Guv I guess he’s who they deserve.

It really is time to admit two facts to ourselves that should have been obvious for years:

  1. There is a large portion of the right-leaning population that hates non-white, non-Christian people and does not consider them real Americans.
  2. There is a large portion of the right-leaning population that actively supports the concept of an authoritarian, white, Christianist regime.

Calling someone a fascist doesn’t really matter if that person proudly identifies as such.
