It sounds like Grenell will do anything Trump asks of him, including committing treason, so he will be AD through the election because no one else is stupid enough to take the job.

There aren’t 20-25 senators who aren’t complicit. They didn’t fail us because they never tried to begin with. Rather than look at them as “failures”, it’s time to look at them as members of “the bund”, even the Senator Burrs among them. If they cared, they would have changed parties — at least to Independent, as Justin Amash in the House did. Of all these GOP “gentlemen”, he was the only one.

They only know how to operate under the cover of night and then they have to carry a AR 15 to pretend that they are tough guys. It doesn’t take any courage to be a traitor to your own country and bow down to foreign dictators.

The key word here is “foresight”.
It seems that there is no future for most of them beyond 2/21/20.
And then the next day there is no future for most of them beyond 2/22/20

and so forth
Al Pacino made a movie years ago called And Justice For All. He played an attorney whose work highlighted the inconsistencies of an urban legal system. One of his clients, trapped at every turn, went ballistic and barricaded himself, refusing to come out. His words to Pacino:
“I DON’T HAVE TO DO ANYTHING BUT SIT RIGHT HERE!”
The GOP Senate knows that this will not end well. They are simply playing the only Game they have ever known: ten-dollar words, talking points, dissembling, deflecting and hoping that someone (or something) lets them off the hook.

I play the banjo … poorly … I have no talent. But I like building them and have spent countless hours crafting a neck for one completely by hand. I still need to find an appropriate pot (the round part) of the right wood and configuration. Then the thing might make some noise.

I would say that the nation just dodged a bullet, but Trump will undoubtedly fixate on somebody even worse, so the net effect will be that the bullet just got bigger.

It is apparent that trump cannot stand “uncomfortable non-sycophantic” news. All “facts” must fit within his “gut activated” preconceived notions of reality. Anything outside that must be an attack on him personally which he must destroy.
If I have this correct … he is a very ill man indeed.
