Mr. Collins… you’re defending a group , trump and associates, who give the word “incompetent” new depth and meaning. According to the law and also tradition the “gang of eight”, that’s the leaders of the House and Senate, are to be informed prior to, or very shortly after a move like the killing of Soleimani. Generally that grace period is 48 hours. And you do not do it by tweetering. Which is how trump did it just barely within the lawful time frame. And then donnie crowed about how he “likes to follow the law”.

Real incompetency was trump threatening cultural sites in Iran. This fight was between governments, not the people in Iran… but it is now. And Persians are well known to carry grudges and serve up revenge… cold. A competent leader would not insult an entire people. People who had no cause to hate the people of America. They have a cause now, Mr. Collins. And it was not democrats who got us in this mess. Trump walked away from the nuke deal with no cause other than it was made under Obama. trump picked this fight Mr Collins, not the democrats.

ETA: Had an interesting exchange in the hotel elevator this morning when heading to work. Had two Marines on the lift with me, one female, one male. Thanked them both for their service. The woman acknowledged and asked if I’d seen Trump’s speech yesterday. No, I answered, I was working. She said, she’d seen it on YT and it was a great speech; the one thing about Trump is that he tells the truth. Then she dropped her voice, and said, well, sometimes.
I don’t think we have to ask where her allegiance is, but it is telling that she’s not completely taken in.
Hard to take these Rethugs seriously when the only venues they appear on is faux news. Preaching to the choir.
