Don't Get Conned By Trump's Big, Beautiful Air Force One Boondoggle

He was too civic minded for this moment in history.

No one will ever know how many people were fired, resigned, retired, whatever. If a private company “lost” 60,000 people, the media would be nuts. But whatev. No investigation, not even a profile or two (a la the famous Trump diners) of people (like my kid) whose life has been turned upside down for no reason when she “left” the DOL.

Railroad ties will eventually rot, especially if buried in wet soil. I have seen small trucks go into cesspools due to this engineering.

Part of 2025’s putative cost-cutting should not be paying millions to completely strip this gift jet and sweep it for bugs, tracking devices, explosives, corrosives and all the other things that could interfere with the enjoyment of the occupant during flight.

A 747 aircraft to replace the 40 year old Air Force One…

One may note that ALL 747s are pretty darned old. including the “new” one.

To make the latest incidence of bribery and massive corruption up to par with the vehicle it will “replace” (for the Felon Adnin only; then it’s all his!), the important retrofits are:

  • More Gilding! Inside and, for a change, outside! With big 'TRUMP"s everywhere!
  • Better comms – need to get that NewSmax and OnAm Newz at all times! Also phone service!
  • Less room for the Enemies of the People. Let 'em buy their own tickets on commercial coach lines.

Of minimal concern is

  • Signal security. I mean, just use some public phone app, amirite?
  • Defensive capabilities – what are those fighter jet escorts for, anyways?
  • Checking for bugs, sleeper software, and all that stuff that our Good Qatari Friends would never, ever do.

Trump vowed to have the jet placed in his presidential library at the end of his term.

“Someday it’ll be like Ronald Reagan, they decommission them,” he vowed. “It’ll go to my library.”

Trump was also asked if he planned to use the plane after leaving office.

“No, it would go directly to the library after I leave office,” he insisted.

I’d bet my house and my 401 that Trump uses this plane (if he actually gets it) post-Presidency. The odds it sits unused are probably in a range betting markets can’t even offer a play. Trump lies if his lips are moving.

We are getting the F-47 to honor TSF. The F-52 is going to honor President Baron.

Well, to be fair, his aides searched the drugstore aisles a long time and they couldn’t find all that on a Hallmark card.

That’s some bullshit. Anyone who’s ever spent time around the government is more than aware, even decades later, that accepting anything more than a cup of coffee from someone can land one in hot water.

Entirely bogus from the NYT here, unless they’re going to do away with all those rules.

It’s probably hard to predict because every business has different profit margins. Some might be able to eat that increase without passing it along to customers with a higher price, many won’t be able to.

The other factor is uncertainty. How many companies that could even deal with a 30% tariff will place orders now, when it’s only a 90 day reduction and who knows what happens after that? There are companies that need to plan purchases 6 months or more in advance. So I’m not predicting a quick surge in orders. We could stll be looking at empty shelves and a recession this Summer.
