Don't Get Conned By Trump's Big, Beautiful Air Force One Boondoggle

Can it be both?

He didn’t. It just got overshadowed by Obama’s terrible failure to respond to Katrina.

Yep that’s correct – so not only would it not save money, it would cost extra money because even the absolute cheapest retrofit possible is still an expense over and above the work already being undertaken. And the existing VC-25A’s are getting increasingly expensive to maintain because of the availability of parts, but are entirely flyable and in excellent condition otherwise.

Re creosote: that’s what makes railroad ties into suck great fenceposts. The don’t rot out or break when livestock push against them. I take your ecological point, but doubt that would influence anyone in rural America, excepting the billionaire class of outside land owners who can afford metal structuring. A few 8" X 8" posts stuck vertically in the ground on a section of land are not going to kill everything around them. It’s a version of " We could all have some lemon pie if we had lemons. But since we don’t we have to make do with what’s available."

The DOGE-driven agency reduction in force (RIF) plans are still secret except for leaks here and there. According to rumor, before the temporary restraining order the Department of the Interior (DOI) was set to begin within 10 days. After that RIF they would offer a third “Fork in the Road” deferred resignation (DRP) followed by a second RIF. A while ago, a leaked draft White House document indicated a personnel reduction goal of 30% for DOI.

The court order forcing agencies to reveal their RIF plans and reorganization plans tomorrow will be very helpful.

Nah, Fox News would go on for a week about how Trump was the best “shit on an injured person’s head” in history. Biden only wishes he could take a dump like Trump takes a dump. Biden would have missed and dumped on his shoulder! Stupid, addled old man. The nation needs a shitter like Trump! Shit for a 3rd term, we demand it!!

And as trump 1’s art of the deal with retrofitting instead of building new leading now to like an extra 4 years of time to deliver, I think we can reasonably conclude that whatever all the thingies inside of the VC-25s which makes them special are, it’s not a savings to buy used.

That said, my bet is he takes it for domestic use, where we control the airspace, and reasonably assume a lack of anti-aircraft ground-based systems not already in government hands, maybe just has the Air Force spend a lot of money on fighter escorts everywhere for protection, and saves the real ones for overseas trips.

Jared and Qatar at least claimed that their $1 billion 99-year lease on his 666 property was a business deal.

And that Ivanka got all those Chinese patents because she was just a savvy businesswoman

Louisiana Republicans blame Obama for Katrina

by Eric Black08/29/2013

Writing for the Washington Post, Dana Milbank has some fun with a recent poll of Louisiana Republicans.

"The question, asked by the robodialer Public Policy Polling, went: “Who[m] do you think was more responsible for the poor response to Hurricane Katrina: George W. Bush or Barack Obama?”

The response: 29 percent picked Obama, 28 percent picked Bush. One wouldn’t want to make much out of Obama’s one-point victory on the question, well within the margin of error. The question is why would anyone blame Obama for the federal response to a hurricane that happened in 2005 when Obama had just arrived in Washington as a freshman U.S. senator?

Milbank is struck by the fact that this poll was taken among Louisianans, who were the direct victims of Hurricane Katrina and of the botched federal response."

I’ve never seen anyone whose projection was this endless and pervasive. “Campaign unrelentingly against you without knowing a thing.” It’s stunning – and he must be either utterly unaware that he’s projecting or “unrelentingly” lying to himself that nobody will notice. Because he certainly would never ever let slip such devastating descriptions of himself if he were aware that that’s what was happening…

I suppose he’s simply not aware of the projection but, wow, it’s at insane levels…yeesh…Dangerous levels, too…He’s running around with the nuclear codes…Do his staff and associates see this? I can’t imagine how they could all be blind to the terrifying amount of projection.he does …
