The Convict must have missed earlier news this week about the “mammoth mice.”
Well, we already have the “Hawley” ready to slap his name on it in the Congress. Somebody, quick, find a “Smoot”! And Great Depression II, here we come! The Greatest Depression! The greatest in American history, maybe even the world!
The NYT has an analysis of how long Ukraine could go without US military aid and it doesn’t look good. Maybe not bad enough for Russia to overwhelm the country because they’re tapped out too, but it isn’t good. We’re providing roughly half of what Ukraine needs to continue the fight. Free gifted link:
Gee, I hope they weren’t offended. I got a “How can we improve this web page” questionnaire. I asked if they could include the addresses on the “To loot list” in order to simplify making inspections of my potential booty easier."
I watched him for about 10 minutes with the sound off, like aversion therapy. I recommend watching people with the sound off, especially Trump. He looked like a tired and slightly crazy old man.
I am getting a little better at ignoring almost everything he says for my own mental health.
So even though I did not listen to this shitpile of trump lies my take is this:
Republicans cheered wildly for every lie trump told.
Democrats held up protest signs and some of the lady members dressed in pink.
One member showed truth to power and for that he was ejected from the room.
Did I get it right?
many tools to address a party’s supposed malfeasance
My favorite is throwing the breaker in the basement. The loud music stops immediately! You can also turn up the gas very high without lighting the oven. When they smell gas they all leave quicker than runny cheese! So many tools!
Therefore I must respectfully dissent from the majority’s decision to reasonably negotiate with the hosts of the party to turn down the music.
As usual, can’t bring myself to watch Trump speak at any time. But top of mind if I had listened to an hour and a half of (unscripted?) babble: The most egregious crimes against humanity being perpetrated by Trump 2.0 (feel free to quibble about the order of importance)
Threatening the freedom and sovereignty of the free world by abandoning Ukraine and sabotaging NATO
Dismantling the democratically installed government in the US
Disrespecting and in some cases physically endangering disfavoured groups
Launching economic weapons at Canada and Mexico, concurrent with friendly fire at the US. And scoring hits.
How much time did he spend actually (honestly?) addressing each of those initiatives in his address? From what I’ve seen of the commentary, not much.
I doubt it because of the too-close proximity in time, but I can’t totally rule out the possibility that by publicly humiliating Roberts in a way that calls into question Roberts’ independence as Chief Justice, Trump caused Roberts to flip on the USAID opinion and that, but for his hubris, Trump would have amassed more king-like powers thanks to SCOTUS.
