“Mr. Trump enjoys enduring support because he is perceived by many voters — often with good reason — as a pragmatic if unpredictable kind of moderate.”
The word “moderate” is doing an enormous amount of work here. Ditto with “pragmatic”.
Mr. Trump enjoys enduring support because he is perceived by many voters as being like whom they themselves are and want to be – and they see him clearly enough. Necessarily, you are not going to have an honest or knowledgable conservation with any of them about why they support Trump.

USA Today reports:
As the Sarasota County School Board convened for the final time this year on Tuesday, Bridget Ziegler entered the board chambers facing a rift largely driven by agenda item No. 1: a colleague’s resolution calling for her resignation.
Zander Moricz, who was the class president at Pine View School in Osprey and now attends Harvard, said Bridget Ziegler deserved to lose her job, but not because of her private sex life.
“That defeats the lesson we’ve been trying to teach you, which is that a politician’s job is to serve their community, not to police personal lives,” Moricz said. “So, to be extra clear Bridget, you deserve to be fired from your job because you are terrible at your job.”

Donald Effing Trump is the single greatest danger facing this country today. He is clearly mentally ill and should be medicated, not nominated. When he does succeed in gaining the GOP nomination, he can NOT be re-elected. It will truly mark the end of our Constitutional democratic republic.

Some of the same Republicans who were running for their lives on Jan. 6, who me and the other Capitol Police were risking our lives to defend, are now saying that the Jan. 6 mob are “political prisoners” or “peaceful protesters” and should be released.
