Rather than answer the question at the center of the House’s impeachment inquiry, Rep. Don Young (R-AK)… nuzzled a videographer’s camera.
Old GOP pervert. Just another Friday.
My understanding is that despite him representing Alaska, a ruby-red state, Young is vulnerable. Does anyone know why?
Ezra Klein had a short appearance on Lawrence O’Donnell’s show last night and he remarked about the near insane partisanship exhibited by the Republican Party.
He called it “scary”.
I believe that there are several types of House Members and Senators who are part of this type of partisanship and I trace just about all of it to The Biggest Hustle Ever Run:
“How do you get citizens of one of the wealthiest countries on earth to self-oppress themselves?”
The difficulties we face with governing ourselves and protecting ourselves from the predators who most of us are battling are mostly self-inflicted.
It isn’t like, say, the Germans invading and raping France for five years. Or what they did in Poland starting Sept, 1939.
This is American Versus American…normalized and institutionalized by some of the cleverest Hustlers ever born.
And the Profile in Courage Award goes to…
Some of us better than others, but I think all of us here could articulate an answer to this question and touch on most of the salient reasons.
Don Young: A real asshole’s asshole.
What’s alarming to me is that this kind of clown-thuggery is not only perfectly acceptable to conservative constituencies, but moreover they also think it’s the perfect “rhetorical” riposte.
It was absolutely of no surprise to me that you would respond to this. And, on this site, I am confident that there would be some great thoughts and ideas coming forth.
Is Sarah Palin proud?
Alaska has no right being a state if Puerto Rico, with 5x as many people, is not one. These people couldn’t elect someone to represent their best interests in a million years.
He’s just acting silly because he has no idea what he should do. It’s a sign that the Republicans are really starting to crack over this.

Ah, but does Puerto Rico have oil (or gold)? Besides, too many brown Spanish speakers . . .
´Cos he´s a known camera nuzzler?
He´s ¨colorful¨! (ETA quotation marks to indicate snark, h/t to @fargo116 )
During a 1994 House debate touching on the question of Alaska Natives’ right to sell sex organs of endangered animals for the purpose of aphrodisiacs, he pulled out an 18-inch penis bone of a walrus, better known as an “oosik”, and brandished it like a sword on the House floor at the face of the head of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.[47][49][50]
That’s what it looks like to me, too. Trapped in a corner and totally out of ideas. Blurt out noises and act foolish. Great solution, Republicans!
I remember being very young and falling for “trickle down”. I brought it up and dinner once (we didn’t talk much politics then) and my mother looked at me like I had a third eye. She handed me an article on the subject and told me to come back when I had looked at the facts. Set me straight.
Used to be that your news outlet would set you straight, more or less. Then Faux News happened and Sinclair and Brietbart and others online. You don’t have to see the facts. At all. They dumb it down to very clear talking points. Nothing gray or blurry. Nothing with context. You don’t have to think at all, just remember the talking points.
Even worse, you can put anything in a commercial. In 2018, the utility companies and their bought and paid for State GOP Congress got a law passed to put the taxpayer on the hook to keep nuclear plants open. This year, opponents were collecting signatures to get something on the ballot to stop this ridiculous law.
So starting in the summer we have been bombarded by commercials here about the needing to stop the Chinese taking over our utility companies. Warning of illegal canvassers coming to get our private information when they were trying to get a petition on the ballot to stop the windfall. The utility companies even sent their own canvassers out to get signatures that did nothing but make people think they already signed a petition on this issue.
Absolute lies. Dastardly tactics that should be illegal. The gop owns the state government though, so nothing will happen. I yell at the TV every time I see it. I told the fake canvasser he should be ashamed of himself. I’ve written to my local gop congress critter (house and senate).
It’s too hard to sort it out and I’m paying attention. Chaos and lying works.
That’s a good dog and a smart breed. S/he knows they’d get into trouble following instinct to grab cute mouse or whatever that is. Pretty cruel to do that to a dog just for laughs.
Sorry, I can’t help it, dog lover.
The question that comes to my mind is why people continue to vote for this addled loon. It’s clear that reality has long-ago sued his senses for separate residence.
Wait a sec, Hannity told me it was Katie Hill who was the pervert and predator.
