Fox will settle so that their screaming heads on air don’t have to testify. Dominion has already won from the summary judgment and both sides know it. All Fox has left is to make sure Dorothy doesn’t see the guy behind the curtain because all pretense of “fair and balanced” is lost.
Generally speaking, we (The People) are ill served by our elected officials and I’m including those of a liberal bent who apparently turn a blind eye to off-the-menu noshing by the likes of Clarence Thomas. I don’t know what the solution might be.
First I want him to confess, and publicly rat out those who abetted him; that will finish him in the eyes of his cult. After that he can rot in prison.
Pence made his token resistance… no further points to be gained.
Trumpworld, which for this purpose includes all the Repub candidates for president, are conscious of court fatigue in the appellate courts, including the supreme court with nuisance, baseless legal actions whose sole purpose is performance and delay. There will be endless opportunities to bluster in coming days. Pence recognized diminished returns from this ploy and is moving on. And of course he could have done worse on appeal, so there’s that.
It most definitely has. I can’t imagine the company has any business going forward except serving existing contracts. And those will not likely be renewed. No elected official is going to want to buy anything from Dominion or even from a rebranded Dominion and then have to endure the death threats, when there are non-Dominion alternatives.
I’m guessing the current value of the company approaches zero.
The only way Clarance gets his comeuppance is in the court of public opinion. Revelations of his craven sleaziness have to be so overwhelming he has to resign. Considering that Biden will appoint his replacement, one can only speculate what further level of craven sleaziness has to emerge before that happens. Ugh.
(Speculating, since we don’t have the order or the filings.) DOJ didn’t even bother to fight Pence on Speech or Debate applying to the Veep while serving in his role as POTUSS. The Department is traditionally quite deferential on Executive Branch powers, and they don’t need Pence to testify about anything that happened or was said on the floor.
