Better a senator dealing with depression than a quack doctor who doubts the efficacy of vaccines and pushes quack remedies.
Senator Eagleton from Missouri served honorably for several terms after having to deal with depression. When he was selected for the VP ticket in 72 he was unfortunately tossed off the the ticket for being treated for it including electroshock therapy. In that era people were not as giving about these issues plus the treatments weren’t as advanced. The Nixon folks, MAGA of that era Stone, Rove etc. mocked him as “jumper cables”.
Andy Ogles (R-TN) claimed he was an “international sex trafficking expert.” I wonder where and when he got his expertise, because it wasn’t as a cop.
Every accusation is a confession. Mark it.
If a pilot takes out five 32 inch mylar balloons, are they then an ace?
Only if they’re enemy balloons.
I imagine they were also getting heat from the Admin, etc, to turn the propaganda up to 11 or else they’d be moving their business elsewhere.
It’s not “imminently readable”, it’s “eminently”. TPM needs a copy editor!
Oh, I don’t know. I was going to read it really, really soon.
Ain’t due for another 21 or 30 days or so
The NYT article mentions a Thursday defense filing, but doesn’t link to the document:
In its defense, which was also filed with the court on Thursday, Fox argued that by covering Mr. Trump’s fraud claims, the network was doing what any media organization would: reporting and commenting on a matter of undeniable newsworthiness. And it noted that many of its programs did not endorse the claim that the election was stolen. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/02/16/business/media/fox-dominion-lawsuit.html
Come on. Consider the altitude, the speed, the precision of the equipment, the intangible nature of the object.
I used to bull’s-eye womp rats in my T-16 back home. They’re not much bigger than two meters.

Definite bragging rights.
In another forum, he claimed, “You know, my midlife crisis, I went into law enforcement. I worked in human trafficking.”
Interviewed on C-SPAN after he took office in Congress, Ogles spoke about human trafficking over the Southern border, claiming: “This is from firsthand experience of someone who worked in that space. I turned gray because of it.”
I’m not sure that talking with Matt Gaetz counts as “firsthand experience.” Second-hand, most definitely.
I thought it was pyramids for storing food. Maybe she watched an old Ben Carson rerun.
Every accusation is a confession.
Had the same thought. He seems a bit obsessed with human trafficking.
I’m flying back to WI tomorrow afternoon - I may concentrate on looking out my window to see if I can spot any balloons.
There just seem to suddenly be a whole bunch of them of indeterminate origin.
Re Fetterman: I didn’t see it, but my wife told me this morning that Ted Cruz tweeted out support to him. Cruz, of course, remains a despicable human being, but I was glad to hear this.
Consider the altitude, the speed, the precision of the equipment, the intangible nature of the object.
Could probably take out the balloon just by flying overhead and ejecting flares. Cheaper than a missile, too.
He seems a bit obsessed with human trafficking.
It now occurs to me that maybe this claim is a nod in the direction of the “Pizzagate” folks (out of which QAnon grew), his way of saying, “I see you.”
The DC Circuit Court of Appeals will hear arguments Thursday over whether the Justice Department can access the contents of the phone of Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA)
Please, please remove this POS from my District and our Country.

His Zillow searches always include “crawlspace” in the filters.
I think it causes Alzheimers.
Kudos though that the Air Force could take out an object, mostly of gas that is only 32 inches in width at that altitude.
One of my jobs in high school was working at an army surplus store. One night, just after i closed, i went into the back storage room and filled a 6’ weather balloon with water, and just left it there. Too bad for me the guy who was supposed to open the next day called in sick, meaning that the owner of the place ended up opening the store. Of course, he had no idea the weather balloon would be there, so he came in, fumbled through the back room in the dark to turn on the lights, and tripped on the balloon, breaking it, and gushing water all over the place. When i came in after school, he talked to me about it, and let it be known that he was not happy, but oddly enough, he didn’t fire me. I did catch him chuckle to himself, though as he left the store.
