A lot of things happened. Here are some of the things. This is TPM’s Morning Memo.

Dominion Voting Systems’ billion-dollar defamation case against Fox News is unlike any defamation case I can remember.

They got caught with their pants down and nothing will happen.

Fox News’ motive for going all-in on wackadoodle conspiracizing, Dominion alleges, was to do damage control.

If so, that was a biblical level own goal. All they had to do to beat OAN was… wait. OAN is a ghost town now. I can’t imagine Newsmax is that much more of a threat.

Main Justice Takes Over Probe Of Texas AG Ken Paxton

I don’t know what to make of this yet

Could it be, after seven years of ‘investigation’, that the DOJ has had enough of the incompetence and lollygagging demonstrated by these investigators and want this to move forward already?

Since no one in the major media distribution wants to subsidize OAN and Newsmax’s fees, they won’t be much of a threat for long.

Now, if we could just get the majors to stop subsidizing Faux, what a wonderful world.

It’s not “imminently readable”, it’s “eminently”. TPM needs a copy editor!

If there is any justice not only should Fox be held accountable but the individuals over there who repeated day after day the lies about Dominion should be held personally accountable as well.

Depression is very common in stroke survivors. Good evidence that it is both biological and psychological. I am sure Fetterman is getting the best care and I wish him and his family well.

Oh man, everyone at Fox knew.

They’ll have to start calling it FoxKnew(s).

Then Tucker tried to get the Fox fact-checker FIRED.

Just because she DARED to tell the truth.

Faux News is not having a good week because Smartmatic won in the New York appeals court, so it looks like Murdoch will have to get that checkbook out and somehow make this legal mess go away. However, from what I understand is that Dominion Voting Systems will not settle the case and they want their day in court.

Nashville’s NewsChannel 5 digs up the background of newly elected Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN) and finds a series of exaggerations, embellishments, and resume padding.

Ya know, like TFG drawing too much scrutiny to NYC bidness as usual commercial real estate deals, I have a feeling Santos is ruining things for a bunch of fake-it-til-you-make it types in congress. Before Santos, nobody would bother to do these deep resume checks.

Kindly cite evidence of incompetence and lollygagging. You could also familiarize yourself with which investigtion DoJ’s Public Integrity Section took over, and no, it’s not the one you assumed. But to familiarize yourself you’d have to, you know, read the linked article.

The quotes from the Fox personalities are something! If I had the time, I’d make myself a big batch of popcorn and read the entire Dominion filing!

I’ve resigned myself to complaining only about typos in headlines and expository sentences.

You’re correct to a point, however the problem lies in the Republican Party not vetting their candidates. The best part of this mess is that the Barely Speaker McCarthy knows about these individuals, and he sees his majority slipping away because it is a political version of “death by a thousand cuts.”

As for Ogles, this all started when he wouldn’t file a financial report with the FEC, which means there is even more to come out.

For races that are long shots (and NY-03 was a long shot in 2020), the GOP’s vetting consists of looking at the size of the candidate’s campaign fund. They assume the guy’s gonna lose, but putting up a fight bleeds democratic money that could have been spent elsewhere.

A few days ago my mom said Biden is moving food into caves to create a shortage for don’t ask me what reasons.

Not sure if it was FOX but something on right wing disinformation.

Is there really food in caves or is that just batshit?
