Hmmm … why am I suddenly thinking of dolphins?
But, as Roger Stone said, if it made money, it’s OK. This is the American Way!
(See the movie, “Get Me Roger Stone.”)
But, maybe if Fox loses $1B, it could make some people notice.
The lawsuit is having an effect because Newsmax ban Lara Logan a few days ago after her crazy Q-Anon rant. Otherwise, if not for that lawsuit Newsmax would have Logan back on the air spewing other crazy theories. Faux News is trying to keep the Big Lie off the air, and they are letting their media personnel pushback against anyone who brings it up. However, it is too late, Trump, his toadies, and other politicians in the past two years have spread the “Big Lie” in speeches and in media talking points from the RNC with no pushback from anyone in any of the media outlets, they all treated it like a normal story. That is why I hope Dominion Voting Systems and the other companies win their lawsuits to send a huge message to these companies.
Imagine being someone who lived in San Francisco in 1978, who admired our mayor, and waking up to hear about this and not too many days later waking up to hear that Mayor George Moscone and City Council member Harvey Milk had been murdered in City Hall. Horrible, horrible days.
Moscone’s widow died recently at age 92. And because Karma works in strange ways, I believe she may have been relieved to not have to have these memories any longer.
When do they start choosing the jurors?
What Roger Stone said is similar to what the head of CBS said about its coverage of candidate trumpet and lack of equal coverage of HRC. “It may be bad for the country, but it’s great for CBS.”
If only there was a foolproof way to make people admit and accept that they were wrong because showing evidence unfortunately doesn’t do it anymore.
No. Nothing exists that will do that. Welcome to the world of human ignorance…ignorance is the act of choosing to not know…for many reasons; false pride mostly, clannishness, cowardice or just plain ol’ ego.
Great Post.
What happened with the snake slithering down the escalator in 2015 was a significant destruction of the serious norms (mores) of our nation.
Agreements and civility which were enforced by mutual, informal processes became a Trumpian battleground of fights used by an out of control liar and criminal to dominate.
Let us hope this is a strike that resonates.
Damn. I thought it was a photo of Buzz Lightyear.
I watched 60 minutes last night since I DVR it every week. Yup I can get though it in roughly 42 minutes.
People should be praising Poulos as the classic capitalist success story. Hardly a Venezuelan socialist (It’s always projection with the wingnuts like Powell) He saw a problem with how voting machines tabulated results and used his Silicon Valley know how to “build a better mousetrap”.
How Fox handed this reminds me of the Dateline GM pickup truck segments from a couple of decades ago, though not as nefarious as undermining democracy. Apparently there was an issue with their side saddle fuel tanks leaking and potentially catching fire after a crash. The producers at Dateline said “hey let’s hook up some low grade explosives under the truck to make it seem worse than what they were”. You know you have to keep the viewers engaged. They eventually settled and issued an apology to GM who did issue a recall on the trucks.
You usually only see heads like that on Greek statues.
“Power is in tearing human minds to pieces and putting them together again in new shapes of your own choosing.” ― George Orwell, 1984
Yes. Unfortunately, I have had a few too many too-close connections to these kinds of events. I was an old buddy of the spokesman for David Koresh – Steve Schneider, whom I knew as “Pinky,” because he blushed so easily – both died (along with 76 other Branch Davidians in the Waco Massacre.) I also met Jeffrey Dahmer, who lived in the Marquette University area where I worked in a local hospital. I felt he was pretty creepy. And knew one of the planners of the bombing of the Army Math Research Center/Sterling Hall, at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1970. A grad student died during that bombing. I performed (music gigs) at a bar that he frequented and we often talked and got close (just not about planning bombings).
And the person convicted for the bombing was a cellmate of my brother in the State Prison, serving 5 years time for armed robbery. Sheesh!
ETA: just a clarification. I knew the guy who was a bombing planner, not the grad student who died…
I cannot imagine the loneliness, trauma, and pain that Mayor Moscone’s wife went through, and the memories she could not erase.

If GOP voters were conciliatory they would not support what they espouse daily.
That, in itself, assumes an attacking spirit, which–in theory–gives them the advantage in voter turnout.
The existence–and success–of the Civil Rights Movement (resting on the shoulders of decades of fighting against Jim Crow) belies that assumption and all it takes is a stopover to a decent library to see–in full depth and breadth–of what those intrepid advocates had to put up with.
I submit that Michael Moore is right…that we WILL outvote the Right and keep Congress.
All it takes is a little History and Righteous Anger…which FDR had so much confidence in that he used that term after the Pearl Harbor Attack.
No Handwringing allowed.
I also record 60 Minutes so I watch it in about 42 minutes. I followed, although with no burning interest, the saga of how the right wing accused Dominion of rigging the machines. I was saddened to learn that this man and the company he built has become a toy for the right wing to disparage and ideally destroy. It’s part of why voters have lost enthusiasm because unless you tune in and don’t just skim headlines you’ll remain uninformed.
I don’t watch Dateline or even very much broadcast news, the producers don’t care about the stories themselves, just about getting eyes on the screen to watch the commercials following the sensationalism. They’re making us very stupid news consumers, and the more images of horrible things happening, trucks on fire, the better it is for them.
Weeelllll, Trump was publicly echoing Fox lies about Dominion and he had the power of the office of the Presidency to influence his followers. I do not know if he is included in the suit or if they are saving him for last. Another question is since Fox shows are taped in NYC, is there any possible way that Letitia James can compound their misery? Ever hopeful.
Go get 'em!
A life filled with notorious characters, and I always heard that Dahmer was very personable, which would account for the babes in the woods taking to him.
There was a huge candlelight march that evening in 1978, perhaps 100,000 people marched from the Castro district, with its huge gay population, to City Hall about five miles away where Joan Baez sang for us.
As much of a hurt as the murders were was the sentence the murderer received, seven years, and when he was released and came home to wife and child, he killed himself. There were no happy endings.
My husband and I and a friend were somewhere in this crowd.
Weren’t both Newsmax and OAN also sued by Dominion? Aren’t those defamation lawsuits still pending?
