DOJ Tries To Use House’s Impeachment Vote Against It In McGahn Case | Talking Points Memo

…Nothing says that a president can only be impeached once…Amateur hour at the DOJ.

Or that additional Articles of Impeachment can’t be added before the Senate trial once relevant and necessary witnesses testify and documents are produced.

Fast track these suckers.

Speaking of additional Articles of Impeachment, we still haven’t learned why aid to Lebanon was held up . . .

Can anyone imagine the other rotten issues circulating in the Oval Office?

This will all be forgotten by the time Trump starts serving his third term.

Paging Tom Barrack!

Nothing says we need the courts to continue with this than clips of Moscow Mitch refusing to allow witnesses.

AGAIN…nothing says ‘innocent!’ than refusing every request from Congress and fighting tooth and nail to keep the ‘truth’ from the American voter.

The White House is running out of closets in which to put Trump’s skeletons. If McGahn testifies, they’re going to make one hell of a pile on the Capitol Steps.

I’m pretty sure that the House can still keep investigating things- impeachment or no impeachment. Geez. These people support limitless power and investigations unless it’s one of THEM being investigated. How convenient.

And Puerto Rico, apparently.

Trump is just the kind of person to wear deplorable impeached as a badge of honor and really run with it.

I expect Trump will get to serve his many prison terms concurrently, not consecutively. :upside_down_face:

Not that he has a choice anymore.

The contention is nonsense. The Senate trial hasn’t even started. What’s the legal argument here: the House isn’t allowed to consider new evidence after Impeachment has been decided on? What cave did this nonsense germinate in?

Trump can be impeached over and over again and deserves to be so.

“Yer honor, my client has been accused of robbing a bank. The charges have already been filed. There’s no need for the prosecution to depose his best friend who was with him the night before the alleged robbery took place. Clearly, with charges already filed, there’s nothing germane that the prosecutors could discover from his testimony…That’s how trials work, right?”
