DOJ Tries To Stymy Jan. 6 Defendants From Exploiting McCarthy-Carlson Surveillance Vid Gambit

The Justice Department argued on Tuesday that Jan. 6 defendants shouldn’t be allowed to delay their upcoming criminal trials based on speculation that the 40,000-plus hours of security footage House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) recently made available exclusively to Fox News’s Tucker Carlson might contain exculpatory evidence.

When an attorney has no evidence to support his client, he thinks Plan B is to hope for a deus ex Tucker to miraculously save the day?

If this wasn’t one of the aims of McCarthy in handing the videos over to Tucker Carlson, I would be astonished. Republicans are doing everything they can to muddy the waters around January 6, and to a certain extent it’s working, at least among Republicans.

Since I believe the metal detectors are no longer in place in the House Chamber, if there was another January 6 type event, there’s no way any Democrats should turn their backs on their Republican colleagues. Greene has already said next time they’ll be armed.

Seems like a good place for this…

Looks as if these folks are grasping at straws, perhaps while praying they can delay until Trump is magically reelected as President.

And then they would have to wait for Trump to actually care about someone else when he has nothing to gain from doing so.

McCarthy says he released the footage to Tucker in the interest of transparency. I would posit that nothing could be as transparent as the footage showing McCarthy shitting his pants while desperately trying to get DT to call off his mob.

Do these defendants know how much their lawyers will charge them to look at 40K hours of video footage?

I’m putting you down for a bumper sticker.

At trail:

DOJ lawyer (to defendant on stand): We’re you at the Capitol on J6.

Defendant: Yes

DOJ Lawyer: Were you sleeping?

Defendant: No

DOJ Lawyer: Did you observe any of the other people in the Capitol sleeping that day?

Defendant: No

DOJ Lawyer: So you were part of a woke mob?

They don’t care. I mean, DT has offered to pay their defense bills, right? Right?

Is this thing on?

I’m not too worried about Judge Royce Lamberth’s decision here. He’s been around the block so many times he is the block.

McCarthy is the type of person who uses our hard-fought liberties against us.

Tucker knew he would look bad when his texts came out, and he worked on a distraction that also lured back viewers who had strayed from the one true station under God.

Specifically, in the service of those who would destroy those very liberties.

Liar Tuck looks bad any day of the week, but there are some days when he does manage to look even more wretched than others.

Things are not going well for the Idiot Boys in Judge Kelly’s courtroom. For the past two days, the jury has been treated to a wealth of video evidence, mostly provided by the Idiot Boys themselves, from their dumb phones. The best bit was yesterday morning when one defendant yelled “fuck them (the Capitol Police). Storm the Capitol!”
