With Breyer now off the court, there is less chance that this would backfire on us. However, I feel the Manchin’s of the Senate would balk more at outright bribing Justices off the court than they would just adding seats.

Better chances than court expansion, at least as the Senate is presently constituted. The SCRAP Act is budgetary and can therefore pass the Senate through reconciliation. Straight-up court reform would be subject to the filibuster.

I don’t know about that. Manchin and Sinema have been completely on board with Biden’s judicial nominees. I think they understand that the Court has jumped the shark.
