DOJ Signals Another Step Toward Broadening Jan. 6 Probe To Focus On Bigger MAGA Fish

Amid criticism of Attorney General Merrick Garland’s narrow scope in the Justice Department’s Jan. 6 investigation, the DOJ has hired a career federal prosecutor to help decide whether to investigate MAGAland’s election steal schemes.

Garland is not doing enough fast enough.
These things take time.
I think that covers this topic.

We are somewhere between " the longest journey begins with a single step" and “if you begin at a point and advance half way there with each step, theoretically, you will never reach your destination…” Hoping for the best…

I am also frustrated by the pace but will withhold judgement until after we know all the facts.

years from now we could be discussing how AG let everyone off the hook

or

wasn’t it great to finally see all of MAGA in orange jump suits.

It’ll be depressing to watch a GOP Prez pardon everyone for every Federal 1/6 related conviction in early 2025 should Republicans retake the White House.

This is good. And I have to assume they have a shxt load of evidence to support investigation and prosecution. IMO bringing holy hell down on those people- POSs all- is 1000x more important than throwing the mopes and dopes who stormed the capital into jail.

“Windom has been tasked with determining if ex-President Donald Trump and his cronies’ efforts to undo the 2020 election ought to be investigated as part of the DOJ’s Jan. 6 probe.”

DOJ Signals it May Be Open to the Possibility of Beginning to Take a Step Toward Foot-dragging from its Current Gas Lighting Position.

18 months and they’re completely dithering on whether to do it at all?? Dead honest-- hopes and dreams and optimism-bias notwithstanding, if the DOJ hasn’t even decided whether it needs to investigate at all we can just forget about it. Not sure how the fix got in, but it’s in. So many things aren’t even about January 6. Kushner laughing in America’s face, so many things not even bothering with he memory hole; the corruption is too deep now. It’s all just for show at this point and any public-facing Pollyannas out there are just being harnessed to this end.

Well, who is running the clock before the 60-day rule (which is the same as iron clad law, I understand) before the election to hope for something?

Enough with broadening the probe. Make some busts! And use a sharp probe, preferably one dipped in pigshit VN-style.

The pretzel logic is complementary.

After several months on the job this special appointment doesn’t have a team of prosecutors to help him. This fact simply blares CYA by Garland and with a beach blanket.
