Bannon tried getting out of testifying by claiming Trump gave him executive privilege, then he realized that they (DOJ) were serious and continuing with a trial that is not covered by his pardon, so he says “oh wait, I can do it now.”

What’s the deal here?*
Are there that many ‘low information voters’? Given the ‘perfect storm’ of crises that Pres. Biden has faced, I see no objective reason for his approval rating to be so low. Don’t people realize he never had a functioning majority to pass major legislation(Edited)? Also, do they believe that GOP pols have any better ideas for dealing with the major problems the U.S. and the world currently face? ‘Biden didn’t make everything better so I am going to vote Republican’ just seems incredibly juvenile to me.

Bannon’s lawyer may be in trouble, too. Last week the lawyer asked the judge for permission to withdraw from the case because he might be called to testify. This might set up a “he said/he said” between Trump’s lawyer and Bannon’s.

I suspect the plan is to appeal his likely conviction, on the basis that he attempted to reach a last minute deal witth the committee to testify. Now, his likely sentence will be in the 30-60 day range, so the point of the appeal would be fund-raising. The DC DA has already requested the court prohibit any mention of his last minute attempt to “testify”. We’ll have to see if the court grants it; it’s not like ordering the prosecution never mention the word “oligarch”.
