Who wants to take bets on how soon the media gets their hands on his tax returns after they’re released to Ways and Means? An hour? Two hours?

When they get ‘his’ returns, how many more nested LLCs, shell companies, & partnerships’ documents will they also need? Going through this stuff is going to be a Byzantine nightmare!

DoJ actually read the statute’s plain language and not the invisible text that protected Trump. Imagine that.

But, wait. Aren’t Chiselin’ Trump’s tax returns still under audit?

Assuming that does happen (please, please please), it would be another instance of Nancy sticking the knife in, and twisting.

It would also be monumentally entertaining.

If just the Fulton County AG announce the prosecution of Trump for attempting to overturn the election results. I don’t know what she is waiting for, they have it in audio.

I don’t understand the flipflop here. Did the DOJ express a contrary view during the Trump years? Or did the Trump administration block it some other way? It’s important to know, because a DOJ that changes its legal opinions when Republican presidents ask it to is a DOJ in need of a massive overhaul.

Having NEVER used the DOJ to attack his enemies, Trump is going to zero in on the political motivations of exposing his crimes.

The situation has also changed, right? Trump is now a private citizen, not the President.

Flip side though, I get that Congress can legally request any citizen’s tax return, but isn’t their reasoning for wanting it now different since he’s just a private citizen? Does the House investigate the business and tax dealings of individuals?

Should have used Cyber Nutjobs. They’d have lost the documents by now.

I just don’t see how it doesn’t happen.
