Oh, so it’s like super-duper-top-secret that Russia isn’t our friend and wants to create chaos and interfere with elections?

Notably the letter does NOT cite concerns about leaks as a justification for refusing to brief the congressional intelligence committees about election interference. These briefings always protect sources and methods. Ratcliffe’s rationale for a sudden change does not make sense.

Despite the fact that this letter from the ODNI to ⁦@SpeakerPelosi⁩ is stamped as having been delivered Friday, a source in the Speaker’s office says she was sent it Saturday evening after 5 pm, via email, hours after the story broke and hours after CNN obtained a copy.

Even if this were true, does he think that written briefings can’t be leaked?

“I can probably count on one or two fingers the things that are actually classified in those briefings,” Johnson said.

So, which is it, geniuses? Vital, classified materials are getting leaked as per Ratcliffe or there’s really nothing of substance in these briefings as per Johnson?

Why don’t you guys get your lies straight, then insult our intelligence?

That wasn’t a leak - that’s common wisdom.

So it’s not the Democrats’ uproar that’s blown out of proportion.

If there’s not that much classified info, it’s Ratcliffe’s move to end the briefings that is out of proportion.

Of course, ending the briefings has absolutely nothing to do with leaks and everything to do with hiding the truth about the foreign help Trump is getting again, and in bigger portions and more pernicious and effective ways.

Which is the point… It’s laughable, but that’s what he dredged up…

Within minutes of one of those briefings ending, a number of members of Congress went to a number of different outlets and leaked classified information for political purposes,” Ratcliffe said. “To create a narrative that simply isn’t true,

Yeah, how dare they? That’s Barr’s job. How dare Dems try to scrupulously correct a false narrative concocted by a corrupt hack of an Attorney General.

So, the quality analysis up to now is correct — Russia is working to help Trump, and Trump is encouraging it.

Senators that get regular FSB briefings are better placed to evaluate how valuable the CIA ones are.

This story is exponentially more important than the Portland shooting one–notwithstanding that any person’s death is gravely of import…

(1) The Portland one refers to the relative appeal of Biden versus Trump as candidates in a presumably honest election.

(2) This one is refers to the Trump Op to eliminate the ability of the American People to vote him out of Office

And there’s this thread today. That damn coward, Rosenstein.

EXCLUSIVE: From my new book … DOJ in '17 secretly curtailed FBI counterintel investigation of Trump financial/personal ties to Russia. DOJ concealed this from FBI at time, leaving FBI w/ impression Mueller would do it. But Mueller ultimately didn’t.

Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein concluded the FBI had not cleared the threshold needed to conduct a counterintel investigation into the president’s ties to Russia. Rosenstein believed the FBI had acted far to hastily to open investigation as it grieved firing of director Comey.
