Sucks, but it sounds like a good idea. Wonder what conspiracy theorists will say?

The decision to offer phone-based voting was developed after the DNC asked the states to open up voting access to people who work evenings or have disabilities that bar them from the regular neighborhood meeting process.

I good solution would be to have a national election day when voting for the president.

I have no confidence in anything electronic with the Russians doing all they can to hack our elections, and the Republicans doing all they can to help them. In fact if Moscow Mitch isn’t going to do anything we need to get a petition going asking for the UN to provide international observers.

They went on to note that allowing greater participation prevents the DNC from ensuring that the “correct” and approved folks come out on top.

Agreed. And that’s the tip of the iceberg. There are dozens of things which need to be done.

Or scrap the caucases and have a full vote by mail primary system. Its accessible to everyone, has a built in paper trail and the only electronic things that need protecting are the optical scanners/vote tally systems.

I hope campaigns are getting some counter-intel training.

I’m talking to you, desperately lonely but socially inept campaign staffers!

They should consult Debbie Wasserman-Schultz on how to solve this problem.

Yes, that’s what we have here in Oregon and it works fine, plus, you can vote at your leisure.

They should get rid of caucuses altogether.

I have family in Oregon, and they like vote by mail. And I suppose it would not be practical to try to stuff thousands of extra ballots in the mail. But really, how do you make sure that each vote is from the actual registered voter? If someone–the Russians, say–wanted to cause chaos, what would happen if they generated duplicate ballots for 20-25,000 voters?

One of the problems with mail-in or internet voting is coercion, such as a spouse or an employer insisting on watching how one fills out the ballot.

There is never going to be a fool proof solution. You do have to submit your signature on an outside envelope.

And your point is? :innocent:

Dude, I could spoof an Iowa phone # with publicly-available tools and a list of the phone numbers you want people posing as. Phone-caucusing in TYOOL 2019 is probably one of the stupidest ‘hey, fuck with us’ moves you could make.

So Trump steals from his own base, tell me it ain’t so.
I take it Trump is Scar from the Lion King? Which means we can have fun naming the hyenas (Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed) and their Trump counterparts.
Why would Trump or VDARE use a lion as their symbol? Lions aren’t native to the Americas, and male mountain lions or cougars don’t have manes.

A caucus is the least Democratic vehicle for voting and is simply not indicative of the will of all the people, just those who are able to get the night off.

It’s a callback to the ‘better to live one day as a Lion than 100 years as a sheep’ quote from Mussolini that Trump tweeted out ‘by mistake’.
