I’m still fairly convinced because we nuked our in person voter outreach because there is a pandemic that that cost us in slim races but that doesn’t upset me. What upsets me is AOC and Lamb should talk to each other and within the caucus before whining to the NYT and pollsters need to get their act together because they didn’t just blow it, they missed a lot of the important races by a mile, and not just one pollster, all of them.

I don’t want to play a blame game and I don’t want to demonize Perez. But I think his outreach to Latino voters has been inexplicably weak: Cubanos are one one thing, and the South Americans, but that we substantially lost Latinos votes in the Rio Grande River Valley, the place where it all happens, is pretty scary to me. That kind of thing needs to be addressed and I hope they’re bringing in someone to do it.
Beyond that, I’m pretty resigned that the struggle between Ahriman and Ahura Mazda is indeed eternal. Sigh.

One of the things that worried me before the election was that the GOP had badly beaten Dems in registering new voters. There were pretty obvious reasons for that with the pandemic, but this probably isn’t something we’ll see repeated anytime soon. I’m taking heart in that.
Also, I like Tom Perez and I think he did a great job in '18, but I would love to see Stacy Abrams chair the DNC. She’s an amazing organizer, brilliant, and inspiring. We have a very real opportunity to pick up the Senate in 2022 (if we don’t in December) and we need a leader like her to get it done.

As I understand it, lots of Trump voters were not captured because part of owning the libs is refusing to respond to polls or lying to pollsters. In any case, they were underpolled. This is a problem for pollsters.

Exactly, I live in Minnesota and Colin Peterson’s loss was a long time coming. The right has be pounding away at outstate Minnesota for a long time. Our DFL, (Our version of the Democratic party) used to dominate the northern tier of the state, back when miners were Union, in the last few years we’ve been losing up there. Lots of AM Hate Radio out in the jack pines and corn fields of our state.
Also too I read, maybe on KOS, a pretty good analysis of Susan Collins win, it was all in how the locals view outsiders.

I just don’t know where we go from here with polling. I don’t know if this is a Trump era phenomenon or if this is a real long term issue, but something has got to change.
Kelly had been outperforming Biden in the polling the entire cycle. I really don’t know what the hell that was about.

The morons who ran around talking about defunding the police are to blame for the losses. It was obviously stupid. Even those of us who despise the current crop of crooked, racist cops understand that we do not need to abolish police departments. What is needed is police reform (wholesale removal of the white supremacists who have infiltrated police departments, increased spending on alternatives to police and incarceration). The defund the police slogan is something that only someone who is not very smart would advocate, and it’s not generally a good idea for Democratic candidates to advertise that they are dumb (Republicaos have cornered the market for dumb voters).
This stupidity cost Dems. votes is purple areas, and only Trump’s years of outrageous actions saved Dems from losing even more seats. Biden specifically said it was stupid to defund the police and he won a large mandate. I think Tom Perez is terrible (the losses of Latinos in TX and FL speak to poor messaging and are unacceptable) and needs to go, but these losses are not solely on him.

Which delays the certification of the election. Raffensberger knows that it won’t change the result but I’ll bet he’s been bullied into it by Trump, Kemp, Loeffler and Purdue. I was hoping that Biden would exceed the 0.5% trigger, but I guess not. AZ will likely be headed for a recount. Fortunately, Biden is on firm ground in PA, MI and NV. No recounts here.
