The Democratic National Committee announced on Thursday that the Democratic primary debate between 2020 presidential candidates Joe Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) on Sunday will be held in Washington, D.C. instead of Phoenix, Arizona as a cautionary measure against COVID-19.
Honestly, for what it’s worth, the whole event should just be postponed or cancelled. This is really not a necessary event and would show far more concern and integrity for the party than the current administration has shown and that includes the meatball at the top of the Senate.
We’re jumping through a lot of hoops to not do the obvious thing…I’m thinking it’s more like we’re jumping through hoops just prior to doing the obvious thing.
Wow. Katie Porter cites law that lets CDC pay for costs of diagnostic testing for anyone when needed. Asks CDC’s Redfield if he’ll commit to invoke that authority to make it free of charge for anyone. Redfield ducks, but Porter badgers him into saying “Yes.”
Very proud of California leadership right now. Our Gov is speaking at the moment. Testing is getting up and running more here, the cruise ship passengers are being disembarked and triaged, and it sounds (fingers crossed) that the issues of paid sick time and other economic consequences are being addressed.
