Dismally Slow Vaccine Distribution Sets Up A Long 2021 | Talking Points Memo

It’s becoming increasingly clear that it could still be many months until the U.S.’s COVID-19 vaccination campaign reaches the general public, as government data shows severe delays in the effort amid a lack of planning by the Trump administration.

GOP feature, not bug. Kill off as many POC as possible.

Trumpers thought they’d be clever and hang Biden with a poor second wave of vaccinations, but fucked up the first wave.

The one thing saving those of us among the general public who desperately want the vaccine is that so many are refusing it. Refuse away. That just bumps me up in line.

Louisiana was to begin registering elders for appointments to receive the COVID-19 vaccine today, but phones and websites of the pharmacies were overwhelmed. I could not get through to make an appointment at either of the pharmacies in my area.

So Trump’s stable genius plan to dump the vaccines on the states, with no extra Federal money and support to actually get them into people’s arms is working as planned. It’s the states’ fault!

Gotta hand it to Trump, if there’s one thing he’s good at, it’s deferring blame.

If only we had some way of slashing COVID spread during this disastrous vaccine slow roll.

Something simple and cheap, readily available to everyone.

Like a piece of cloth maybe.

Something like that.

Hope they are telling people it could take up to 14 days after the vaccination for your body to develop any immunity. A medical worker (nurse) contacted the virus about 5 or 6 days after receiving the shot. Still need to wear the mask and be careful.

And killing people. Don’t forget the killing.

No. Masks cause covid. A year ago, zero masks, zero covid cases. Now, tens of millions of masks, and tens of millions of cases.

If only more people had listened to trump, this would have stayed at 15 cases and just gone away.

Sooooo… Never occurred to anyone that you might need a national vaccine registry database to track distribution of a multi-dose product with specific timelines for each individual?

So, 379 days? 422?

It works on his supporters. One told me recently that anything Covid-related was not his fault.

That fractured fairy tale has got to be corrected.

I’m resigned to a couple more months of stay-at-home which will make it to near the one year anniversary of lockdown.

Jebus Tapdancing Christ , what a collection of incompetent murdering psychopaths
They knew it was coming
Since June
Plenty of time to set up registration sites, so you could fill in your paperwork , get an appointment and relax.
But no
Federal Government Here states, have at it
States: Here Counties, have at it
Result : Mass confusion
In my county (Lake Florida )they started with a phone reservation
Smart
Took exactly 15 minutes to crash .Abandoned but the appointments for the first 2 days were honored after that Stadium seating first come first served , Seniors lining up over night for a chance at 2000 doses and if they didn’t have a car …too bad , so sad SOL
Yet all the politicians seem to have no difficulty as they look over the parapet walls and decry Tsk Tsk Poor serfs , they have it so tough

Better add a few months to that. Cleaning up this mess is clearly going to take a while.
