Discussion for article #226111
Must have confused Cotton with Bill Clinton.
Maybe he meant Lonesome Rhodes scholar?
“Not sure where you got that from,” Sherman tweeted at Trump.
Pulled it out of his ass?
Donald Trump is a huge factual error. [fify]
I’m shocked, shocked, that wingers on Bill Maher’s show lied about one of their own. Usually Maher catches that crap pretty quickly, but that was obviously not something he knew enough to call BS on.
If a spin doctor was tossing it out on Real Time, then its probably part of a bigger misinformation campaign.
The fact that they are going there shows that they are very worried about that race. Being a Rhodes scholar means absolutely nothing to the republican base. Hell, it might be a condemnation. Trying to pin it on him now is an attempt to appeal to indys and Democrats in the state.
Which means, they know they don’t have the numbers within their base to defeat Pryor.
Why doesn’t Trump move to Arkansas or any other southern and/or border state where he could be closer to kindred spirits???
There’s also this recent gem from Trump’s twitter feed:
“ObamaCare premiums rising 13.2% in 2015. Elections have consequences!”
He links to an article predicting premiums increasing by 13.2%… in Florida. The article also points out the the 13.2% premium increases predicted in Florida are significantly less than the average insurance premium increase in Florida over the previous year. The article also touches on the background information about why rate increases in Florida are an outlier compared to other states (spoiler alert: The election of RIck Snyder has consequences).
Donald Trump, as politically literate as your crazy right-wing uncle, but with infinitely more power and influence. Just watch the Republican politicians line up to enable his ignorance.
Cotton may have envisioned himself as a Fulbright Scholar from AR who went to Iraq. I know Trump is the pick-pocket arse in Cotton Comes To Harlem.
A huge factual error? Only one? Doesn’t sound like Trump.
Donald Trump Has A Huge the YOUUUGGGEESSST Factual Error In His Tom Cotton Endorsement
Donald Trump IS a huge factual error.
Dang! Missed your post before I echoed it. Great minds…LOL
Could have shortened the title and whole article to this.
It appears there was Thomas Cotton, of the New College in Texas, that was elected a Rhodes Scholar in 1965. Not the same guy.
Somehow Anna Deavere Smith recognized the name and interjected that Tom Cotton was a Rhodes Scholar. Maybe she’s memorized the name of every Rhodes Scholar, no matter how obscure?
So an actress and playwright makes an offhanded and inaccurate statement on a late-night talk show, which leads to reality-tv star and bankrupted businessman making an erroneous comment on Twitter. Ah, politics. It’s the circle of derp.
An endorsement from “the Donald.” Does anyone in America care who Trump favors? I doubt it.
Not sure about John Avlon (I know he wrote a book called Wingnuts; How the Lunatic Fringe Is Hijacking America), but Anna Deveare Smith is anything but a “winger,” unless you mean left. She received the National Humanties Medal from President Obama last year for her commitment to civil rights in her literary and dramatic work, among other things. She has been artist-in-residence at both the Center for American Progress and at San Francisco’s Grace Cathedral, and she also teaches at NYU School of Law. As for the Maher episode, it appears from the Raw Story transcript that Avlon made the original Rhodes Scholar mistake. There is no mention of Ms. Smith’s commenting on it at all.
Please don’t wish Trump on us. We have enough on our plate trying to defeat Cotton.
We’ll always have the memory of Mitt and M’Lady standing at his side ready to kiss the ring and this memory of the president doing stand up very well.
.Donald Trump is here tonight," said Obama. “Now, I know that he’s taken some flak lately but no one is prouder to put this birth certificate matter to rest than The Donald. And that’s because he can finally get back to focusing on the issues that matter, like, ‘Did we fake the moon landing?’ ‘What really happened in Roswell?’ And ‘Where are Biggie and Tupac?’”
