When is Chuck Todd’s career as a partisan hack journalist masquerading as a semi-competent journalist over?

I wonder what the polling on Chuck Todd’s journalism skills and career would say?

What are MSNBCs nielsen numbers like? Todd is doing his job.

Chuck Todd is one of the reasons that the American populace is so woefully misinformed. It we simply had a media that Required, in fact, actually Demanded that elected officials told the truth instead of letting them get away with half truths and in many cases, outright lies, the American people would know what’s truly going on. Instead, we have the Chuck Todds of the world. Walter Cronkite is spinning in his grave.

Certainly the phrase “Chuck Todd” would make more sense.

Let’s see: Bush’s second 4 years of destruction average approval rating: 37%.
Lowest year: 25%.

Nothing for Obama to worry about.

So, let’s see what Obama accomplished:

1. A private for-profit insurance industry federal subsidy program guaranteeing the insurance industry captive customers and a 20% overhead (Medicare operates on 4%).
2. No effective reform of the financial system.
3. Embrace of W Bush bailouts.
4. Six-year extension of W Bush ‘war’ in Afghanistan.
5. Proposal to cut Social Security benefits.
6. Defense budget larger than W Bush’s.
7. Piddling ‘stimulus’ - only 1/3 jobs, but 2/3 more tax cuts and tax ‘incentives’ - to fight the largest recession since the 1930’s.
8. Longest period of extended un-employment, under-employment and declining labor force participation since World War II.

HOPE?

My hope is that the next Democratic President is a Democrat.

Todd is something MSNBC should actually apologize for.

I might also add that the “news”, as it is constructed now, is spectator fodder for people about my age (66). If one were to simply look at the commercials geared for cable TV news, they are advertising focusing on over 50 folks.

The Fourth Estate has devolved into the infotainment cesspool you have described–geared for geriatrics with extremely low I.Q.'s and a near ZERO knowledge of or appreciation for history or geography, all coupled with a tendency to be resentful and racist.

As I have said innumerable times online and in person, ALL of this is a social artifact of the structural/psychological/sub-cultural IMPOSSIBILITY of Americans below 45 to match the political zeal of older folks. And I am starting to believe it is more sub-cultural than anything else.

If those born between 1966 and 1996 voted with a participation rate of 90+% not only would Chuck Todd’s message be different, but there would no longer be Corporate-Controlled News.

And no more Chuck Todd.

they treat every repub conspiracy like truth and run it into the ground. much like aca, bergdahl, benghazi, when either positive news or shit gets debunked, they ignore it and read line for line from wingnuts on how it’s a disaster or the worst thing ever in the history of man.

Poor Chuck Todd. The guy just breaks down and goes loony whenever he doesn’t have Nate Silver’s presidential election year polling numbers to crib.

Remember that the other person in that video clip (David Gregory) is 6’ 6" tall.

Todd isn’t tall, but he’s not super short, either.

Like his intellect and his political sensibilities, his height is crushingly average.

President Bush’s approval ratings were even lower and he kept right on being President - signing bills, making decisions, doing all the things a President does - until the real end of his term. Tomorrow’s poll from some other paper will have different numbers and everyone in cable yak-land will draw different conclusions. Thank goodness these media celebs are never given any real responsibility to actually make decisions about anything other than their own haircare appointment scheduling.

The foreign policy thing is an enigma. By a large majority Americas say they want a less adventuresome foreign policy and Obama has delivered that. He ended 2 wars he promised to and seems to have taken the right approach with Libya, Ukraine and Syria.

But folks like Todd have pummeled him from day one. Obama has taken more crap for ending wars than the folks did who started them.

My hope is that you post something honest and true—a hope that will be unfulfilled, I’m sure.

Wow, if limited public polling had the power to end something so immediately, Chuck Todd and Morning Joe would have been taken off the air years ago.

What about congress Chuck Todd. Is their term over too since they get the lowest rating of any congress in history. In fact President Obama looks great compared to congress. Chuck Todd is going to regret his words someday about what he said about President Obama. We are now learning that the attack on Benghazi was because of the video just like the state dept. and the CIA said. Chuck Todd was calling the President a liar on Benghazi not too long ago. We are lucky to have President Obama in charge the country right now because if Romney was in charge we would already have Americans in Iraq getting killed right and left.

It’s a WSJ/NBC poll. Sure feels like WSJ is not doing an honest poll here.

For one, there is no way on earth that 27% of voters will vote for an independent or 3rd party candidate for congress, I am not even sure that 27% will have such a candidate on the ballot.
