Wonder what she thought of Dick Cheney’s special (and unapologetic) F-U message to Patrick Lehey
I understand - however, I still find her stunt to be hypocritical and tasteless. If she wants to work for respect and equality for women, let her sponsor some helpful policies (or belong to a party that cares about this). She is using a real issue to cover for her own political problems.
I really have to wonder what the response would be if a male Democrat pulled the same stunt.
“Boo hoo! Don’t run for office if you can’t handle a naughty word or two” springs to mind.
I live in her state. She is like a clone of Palin. Fortunately, she has zero chance of winning the primary. Although…it would help the Dem’s chances tremendously if she was the GOP nominee…
Find me a male equivalent of the ‘c-word’. Notice how a number of our derogatory phrases for men are actually misogynistic hits at women. SOB comes to mind. You hate the guy so you insult his mother? That makes sense. M___er F___er comes to mind as well. What is the derogatory insult for a man who wimps out of something? Notice how it happens to also be the derogatory term for a part of a woman’s anatomy?
Even many of our insults against men are misogynistic. That is how pervasive misogyny is in our culture. There really isn’t any comparison that a male politician could come up with compared to what is hurled against women every day. And not just on the internet, but in real life as well. As someone noted above misogyny is apolitical.
Guess what, Annette. This stuff happens to everyone who runs for office. If you want to jump into the public spotlight, then don’t google yourself. Or else grow a thick skin.
And, as far as much of it being “liberals” who are posting these vulgar things about you, I think you’re full of crap. In fact, I think the whole thing is a campaign stunt.
Shades of Mike Gravel.
How is there no mention of her land raffle scandal?
She holds a raffle for some land – sells a bunch of tickets (I believe they were $1000 per ticket) – but then never actually held the raffle.
She just kept the money!!
Additionally, go and actually Google her full name. There is nothing in the first 10 pages of her search results other than the scams and scandals she’s trying her damnedest to deflect.
But someone called her the C word on the internettttttt!!!1!!!
Priorities, people. Priorities!
Hell; imagine if Obama held a press conference with names sprayed on the walls of all he’s been called. The press would go NUTS; along the right wingers.
No, and she won’t be. The republican candidate is going to be the ex governor(He has over 60% of the vote I think), and in all likelihood, he will win the general election as well. The Dem is an ex staffer of Daschale’s.
Just another Republican yelling, “LOOK AT ME! I’M THE VICTIM HERE!”
Bosworth is performing a stunt that will not endear her to a great many women. I’ve been called all sorts of really nasty things over the years- a lot of nasty misogynistic things. The men who spewed those terms at me were not liberals- even when I said things that were Conservative in nature. These were Conservatives who were attacking me. By and large, the misogynists out there go for the Republican Party just the same way that many racists do.
Quite frankly, I’ve seen Republicans admitting to voting for a female candidate because of her looks and not her issues or her brain. In fact, if you look at FOX News (as compared to MSNBC or CNN) you see a bunch of very intelligent, well educated women who are constantly having to lower their apparent intelligence in order to avoid insulting their audience and their cohosts along with the fact that many are there just for their looks and nothing more.
By and large, the GOP has the misogynists, and making a public display of something that each woman goes through almost every day of her life and trying to blame anyone but misogynists is not going to win you many votes- and is likely going to drive away the male voters in the GOP.
GOP/MSM POV: “WOW! He’s so ANGRY! Can we afford to have such an ANGRY BLACK MAN in the White House?!?”
Plus I’m betting those sites she allegedly cites are for her Republican opponent. I never heard of her until today.
What a pity she spoiled a perfectly good point by trying to make it party political against the Democrats. Sorry, Dr Bosworth, but that is your party’s base talking to and about you there.
I guess she figured, “Hey, if Joe the Plumber did it…” Or she looked at all the columns on misogny as related to the Rodger murders and thought, “Women were victims there. I’m a woman. I must be a victim there, too!”
Exactly. I hate these stupid arguments. When we complain about the GOP waging war on women, we’re talking about ELECTED OFFICIALS, not some random people on the internet.
She would fit right in as a GOPer politician. Notice the excellent diversion tactics.
