TPM:

Rubio: Trump Is ‘Most Vulgar’ Person To Run For President Ever

And considering the last Republican president, that’s a pretty high bar to clear.

And without a doubt, after it was brought up in the debate, she knew she was going to have to work extra to earn her keep. A guy like Trump would demand that she fawn all over him after something like that, to hold off those insecurity demons.

Remember how, for Mission Accomplished Bush tightened his parachute straps just right, such that Chris Matthew and sundry other political commentators couldn’t stop gushing about Bush’s junk?

My point isn’t that Trump isn’t the most vulgar. He is. I just want to point out that Trump isn’t really that far beyond Major League Asshole. Trump is the most vulgar, yes, but nor far and away the most vulgar. When it comes to vulgarity, Trump only reaches such heights because he’s standing on the shoulders of giants.

Ohhh. Ow. My head. Awful hangover from debate drinking games.

That “Mission Accomplished” outfit—yeesh. But let’s call it an outlier. “Major league asshole” was a hot-mic thing and Cheney’s foul-mouthed snarls were private exchanges. So I’d say that despite the private behavior and language of everyone who went before Trump, publicly they understood what was appropriate and expected. Trump isn’t just measurably more vulgar than them in public, in his speech before crowds of thousand and television cameras that open it to millions more. He’s standing before the nation saying “fuck” and “shit” and “pussy” and talking about the size of his dick. That’s not an incremental increase in the vulgarity level. It’s an unheard-of smashing of any preexisting standard.

“Well, our path obviously is to go into the convention with the most number of delegates of anybody on the ballot and we have a path to doing that. It may take a while,” he [Rubio] said …

“… But we expect to take the lead shortly after the 58th state votes.”

Poor Donnie,
I wonder if he accompanied Limbaugh on his Dominican Republic excursions?
