Who cares? She’s not an “ABC Anchor.” She’s on a talk show, not a news broadcast.

She was practicing telling Santa she wants a big bag o’ money for Christmas.

The answer to the breathless headline is in the story, which is that this isn’t a story. It’s the entertainment business. Everybody loves everybody who comes on their show.

Would Edward R. Murrow, Walter Cronkite or Dan Rather have allowed themselves to be photographed posed with a candidate like that? And to be quoted in such a way it makes it sound like they are personally giving an endorsement?

I don’t think so.

She’s 5’6" and he’s supposedly 6’2". It’s possible he was seated, though, and she was standing, which could have created that specific differential.

But where are we that reporters think kissing up to candidates is acceptable in any way? I guess she’s not really a reporter, so much as on-air personality.

Is there anyone in the media with any gravitas at all who will come down hard on all these so-called journalists letting themselves be bought off? Anyone? I know Media Matters and TPM and liberal blogs will, but will anyone in the media shine the light on this and say what a danger it is to our democracy?
