Discussion for article #241695
Sounds like he’s the kind of gentleman who tells when you don’t kiss him. He ratted out his blind date years ago, now he’s ratting out the Benghazi Inquisition.
Seems like he’s a typical republican. Looking for some way to make a buck blackmailing someone.
There isn’t enough data to make an informed opinion on this fellow. I’d like to see his expense / compensation reports. Where did he spend the committee’s money?
Not enough information here to judge, but the “blind date” story makes him look like he could be a guy in search of his 15 minutes of fame.
I was hoping for more details surrounding the circumstances of his firing, and what kind of investigating he was doing.
¨Quit the chit-chat, I’m here to drink on The Washington Post’s dime!"
Hell, after he pulled out his cell phone during a date to make a case against unions, I would have said the same thing.
Hard to know, at this moment, whether it is Gowdy or Clinton who best needs this guy to stfu.
I want to know how he got the investigation job in the first place. Who hired him? Specifically who gave him his marching orders? Is that private also?
A douche, no matter his stripes, IMO.
He’s a maniac, like the others on the committee.
So this guy earned $108k in 10 months as an investigator. What kind of conservative spending is that? I guess when you go after a Clinton money is no object and your principles go out the window. Well, if they really had principles to begin with.
Wouldn’t it be nice if this guy is sincere, wouldn’t it be nice if real action is taken as a result?
Have no idea what kind of a person he is - he could be a total jerk - but these may be of interest
Here is his Ph.D. Dissertation:
ACTING ALONE: U.S. UNILATERAL USES OF FORCE, MILITARY REVOLUTIONS, AND HEGEMONIC STABILITY THEORY

U.S. Joint Forces Command in Virginia - worked for the Director of Intelligence.
Joint Warfare Analysis Center —giving military leaders briefings on world events.
Moved to Germany as a civilian - worked for a year for the U.S. European Command conducting tactical intelligence.
No doubt - when this guy took the job investigating Benghazi - he thought he was going to be using his expertise on strategic & tactical - - military & political action in the turbulent hot spot - Libya - not playing political cloak & dagger games…
Republicans prove once again they will eat their young to save face.
The Republicans should pay back the tax payers the $ 50 M they have wasted on their Hillary Clinton witch hunt.
Republican government = fascism and spying on all political adversaries.
Wait, you expect these Republicans in Washington to actually PAY for something? No, they just charge everything to the gub’mint credit card and blame Democrats for wanting to do too much.
We know, a priori, he´s a boor because he´s a libertarian Republican who headed the Young Republicans on campus. But that doesn´t necessarily take away anything from his accusations of a political witch-hunt.
What a charmer, huh? Still, he’s a pretty typical con Republican. It’s been amazingly predictable, however, as to how Gowdy Doody and his ilk on the committee would go after Podliska. Now on the rightie blogs (hold your nose and take a look) Podliska is a “Clinton plant”…“a lying traitor”…“a Democrat”…“a liberal”…and the usual Opposite Day, in-denial, truth-is-what-WE-say-it-is, attacks that inevitably take place when someone doesn’t follow the party line and do as they are told in the GOP, and especially when the Repukes think they have an issue, no matter that it’s completely fabricated, which might hurt Hillary Clinton.
Interesting find, thanks. There might be more to this guy than just “disgruntled ex-committee member.”
We shall see.
The chairman says he was dismissed for mishandling classified material? What was not asked or answered was if he still has his DOD/NSA issued security clearance. I am thinking that he does or the republicans would have made a point to bring that up to bolster their dismissal claim. If the committee’s charges are real then his clearances should have been pulled almost immediately.
Oh, they have principals all right, it’s principles they lack.
a 2011 Washington Post feature that sent two Washingtonians on a free blind date.
Date lab still is a Washington Post “feature” in the Weekend Magazine (where it’s always been).
