I wasn’t aware that the MSM was doing that. As best I can tell, the MSM dusted off the C- curve they used to grade W and found it too exacting, so they’ve just given up any pretense of accountability. He’s so far up their OODA loop, they’ve just shorted out.
Mostly just us bemused denizens of the ever shrinking reality-based community judging him by the standards of a normal, functioning human being.

In an interview before he died, Gore Vidal opined that he could envision a fascist, totalitarian government in the United States. I thought he was being hyperbolic, at the time.
Seeing the popularity (however limited) enjoyed by Trump, the impact of wealth on the political system, the tantrums of the “religious right”, the various inane positions of Republican Presidential candidates, and the actions of a complicit media, I’m beginning to believe that it is a matter of when, not if fascism will take control of the White House. Some may say it has already prevailed in Congress.

The PNAC surely exploited 9/11, but to say they were “delighted” it happened is stooping to Trump’s level. As liberals we are supposed to be smarter than that.
Obama was able to use Sandy Hook to push for better gun legislation. Does not mean he was delighted it happened obviously. I can’t stand Bill Kristol, but I don’t see him watching the attacks on TV that day and saying “yes, this is great”.

Frankly, I find this tweet to be one of the least offensive things we’ve heard from the Donald.
The story here is either he or his advisers realize there is a line out there somewhere that maybe shouldn’t be crossed…
