Yay for the blowback on the flag. Now if the same could be done on … racism … But considering history and how some GOPers from Georgia “grew up around this” and consider it some sort of wonderful honorable heritage…I’ll not hold my breath. I wish we could get rid of it all. Flags, intolerance…all of it. In the words of Rodney King “Can’t we all get along?”

Money is what it’s all about. Well power too…but you need money (donations) to get elected to get power. That is all these clowns care about. Air…breathable air? Clean water? Shit…that’s fer them hippy tree huggers (who don’t dole out donations).

Yes, oh yes! Republicans really would like to defend that rag that symbolizes so many facets of their ‘heritage’…slavery, racism and treason.
But…their political leaders, like cockroaches, shun daylight…so the Republican leadership immediately tries to do damage control and raise the banner to which they are certainly devoted:

This is also the party whose Congresscritter from S.C. yelled “you lie!” at the president, and all that happened was that it increased his fundraising.

They did, John. The adults did, and are.

Now pay attention to this part:

YOU. Are. NOT. Part. Of. THAT. Discussion.

Do the math. We’ll continue the discussion while you work it out in your corner.

Matt! What a quote!!

Sheer literary-level prose. Succinct, valid and devastating.

The Main Stream Media will be shown by historians to be at least as responsble for this uptick in Crazy in the first two decades of this Millennium as any social structure in the United States.

It is their Houdini-like contortions in actually portraying the Repubicans as anything other than a seditious group of Reactionaries which is keeping most of this afloat.

Again, great quote.

Just which flag does Boehner pledge allegiance to?

“strong feelings Members of the House feel regarding this important and sensitive issue.”

HUH??
Strong feelings about what? The goodness of freaking slavery??
What the hell is with our country? It seems to be FULL of indecent half wits!

Is there anyone smart enough, and mature enough, to articulate how this flag has anything to do with the Charleston massacre? If we’re going to ban mere symbols because one bad actor posed with them in his blog, lets go after all things Islam?

That photo is the Democratic leadership posing with a version of the Confederate flag. What’s this about the Republicans? If I were a Republican - I’m not either - I’d use that against the Democrats. But since I’m not, I’d use it to demonstrate how comfortable the Democrats are at heart with racism. And I wouldn’t be lieing.

I’ll second that.

The line is getting pretty blurry now. He might be able to claim independent status in the Senate but he is now running to be the presidential candidate of the the Democratic Party.

This is what Bernie has up for the 2016 race:

Bernie Sanders is a Democratic candidate for President of the United States

Party of Lincoln. I will repeat that. Party of freaking Abraham Lincoln !

Cant wait for these ads later in the cycle

Thanks, dude! We know we’re winning when you have to trot out Gingrich-era illogic to try and throw the discussion off-topic.

Here, we’re talking about people, regardless of race or party affiliation, who murder innocent women and children because they think those women and children are mere animals, because they believe God gives them the right to abuse and kill animals, and because they – search me – happen to use the Confederate flag to rally around.

As for dependency on government, I think you’re referring to the southern states who are happy to live off my federal taxes. Or perhaps you mean the oil industry?

Neither of them seem to be voting Democratic much.

Another evolved quote from Wallace:

“In 1979, Wallace said of his stand in the schoolhouse door: “I was wrong. Those days are over, and they ought to be over.”[5]”

Something even a confederate should be able to understand.

Even when the Repubs retreat, they wave a purely white flag.

Had Abraham Lincoln foreseen the unimaginably disgusting mess into which the Republican Party has devolved, there would have been no assassin, for Lincoln would have died of embarrassment.
