The GOP has supported many blatant lies since GW Bush took office, then went wacko with the conspiracy theories once Obama got elected so this is just more of the same. These ridiculous conspiracies are the weeds that take over when you spray fertilizer all over everything with no care about what you’re planting.
We’re talkin’ southwest US where “dry” is pretty damned common
I think I have said this to you before, give warning before I intend to get sip of coffee, choking so early in the morning not fair.LOL!!!
Don’t get excited. It’s like when I worry about Dr. Carson when he seems rational. It all goes back to normal very shortly thereafter.
This is your government on Tea. Any questions?
Abbott’s just another Republican who feels the need to pander to the crazy base to keep his job, because he knows they’ll primary him if he doesn’t cater to their every whim.
My parents were on a cruise in the very early 1990’s & met some pleasant folks from Texas - they got to discussing politics and those people from Texas expressed their disgust & anguish with what had & was happening to the state Republican Party in Texas - they said it was being entirely hijacked by right wing fundamentalist crazies who were bent upon dismantling everything. The crazy has been soaking into the Lone Star state for a long time - and it will not be easily purged - have to figure that the idiots that were shouting out crap 25 years ago are now sitting in the audience applauding when their adult children march up to the podium and spew even more repugnant crap.
/slow clap
Too little, too late but at least one GOPer said SOMETHING about this INSANITY!!
Yep. Smith has most likely unleashed a very large herd of Tasmanian Devils upon himself and his family.
Have no fear, Rand Paul said he was looking into the matter.
I fear you are so right! Nothing makes the nutters angrier than pointing out that reality is absolutely not an X-Files episode. And Mr. Smith wasn’t gentle with them.
And there are rumors of a rare outbreak of sanity and rationality in Texas. More like this, please.
I miss Molly Ivins. She would have skewered these buffoons so well, so long ago we wouldn’t even be hearing about them now.
And THAT is what sent our politics South in a hurry: More centered Republicans NOT doing what THIS GOPer is doing NOW.
Our politics are in the sewer. Who caused this?
It wasn’t the Confederates (they’ve been here since slavery)
It wasn’t the Militia (They’re been around for ages as well)
It wasn’t even FOX (which is nothing more than gasoline on embers of some scared and hateful 20-30% of the
population)
It was the enablers of what was left of the Republican Party pandering to the idiots
It was the MSM with their damned “False Equivalency”…PANDERING TO THE IDIOTS
Idiots are part of the Republican base.
FIFY
But aw crap! I like some loose leaf oolong tea in the afternoon.(Tucson has one of the nation’s best tea houses…Seven Cups has got very nice high end teas. no tea bags there).
Fewer voters that way.
I am horrified that I have to choose between the possibility that my Governor actually believes this stuff and the possibility that my Governor doesn’t have the backbone to stand up to those who do
You are still in denial if you are putting it all on the Governor.
Your party has done its best to make sure that you can’t get elected governor unless you either are one of the crazies or are willing to cater to them.
I think it was a certain foreigner (Mr Murdoch from Australia) who brought his cash and bought into our media…created Fox News and hired roger Ailes to run it… Then came the deliberate polarizing by his minions at his newspapers and Fox. Fear, hatred of the “other” and any foreign person (speak English ONLY Goldangit or go back to where ya came from) is his trade. The minions do the thinking for that 20% who are incapable of any thought of their own. I have some in my own family, sorry to say). This “invasion” has resulted in mistrust of education and intellectuals/scientists and a massive dumbing down of our population.
